Confirmed: Servers will be on 5AM PDT
IGN confirmed that servers get switched on for the New Zealand launch at 12 midnight NZST (5:00 AM Pacific time on Monday, September 8). I converted the timezone for couple countries so you will know when you will access to Destiny in your timezone. I apologize for the countries aren't listed.

Sadly unless you can get your hands on a early physical copy Monday morning you can't play until midnight your time

10 RepliesThanks for all of this hard work, but I'm afraid that it simply doesn't matter (trust me, I really wish it did)!! Basically, even though the Bungie servers are on and ready, the retailers are the ones with the final say of when we get to play. Those of us who purchased the Digital Guardian edition (myself included), won't get to sign on to the Bungie server until 12AM PST. Essentially, think of PSN as a "retailer" and they are holding off access to Bungie's servers until 12 AM PST. Now, if you're on the east coast or somewhere other than PST and you go out and buy the physical disk, theoretically you can sing on to Bungie's servers before 12 AM PST. HOWEVER! This is only true if PSN doesn't lock out both digital and physical game access to Bungie's servers until 12AM PST. I'm thinking that unfortunately, this is the case. In other words, whether you buy digital or physical, you won't be able to access Bungie's servers until 12AM PST. I could be wrong here, so community, please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't have enough info or have been paying enough attention to the xb1 side of things, so again, someone with more info would give you a better answer/explanation. Hope this helps, _Ohuigin

I think the only reason people think the Digital version is locked is because it says 12 pdt on the xbox or psn. I would think if the servers open for the public it will not only be for the Disc versions. All disc versions say you can pick up at midnight too.

I think people misunderstood them when they said: "Our servers won’t know the difference". Because they did also say "Retailers will stick to time-zones". And I think they are using the term "Retailers" here broadly/generically. Meaning they are also referring to XBOX/PS digital stores. In other words you may not be able to play it before your timezone reaches 00:00 9/9/14, because XBOX/PS would not allow it. Even though Destiny servers are up and running.
