The Night before Destiny (A revision of The Night before Christmas)
'Twas the night before Destiny, when all through the game
Not a creature was stirring, not even Sepiks Prime;
The guns were hung in the armory with care,
In hopes that the players would soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While their parents are waiting at the midnight release;
And with minutes to go, and patience running out,
The store clerks began to get the game out,
When out from the clock arose such a chime,
That signaled midnight and the fact it was time to form a line.
Away to the checkout counter everyone flew like a flash,
And soon the checkout process was done.
The game now released, was taken home with care,
While the consoles were turned on so as to load the game quick,
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But the character creation screen and the opening cinematics,
With button presses so lively and quick,
The characters are created and the first mission is cleared.
While over at Bungie employees watch the servers with care,
And they hope that nothing goes wrong with a silent prayer.
When all of a sudden theirs a call from the floor,
“Come, Deej! here, TinMan! You to, Cabel and Urk!
Look at them all!
These new guardians will do just fine! "
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, the new guardians did beat it;
So up to the penthouse the Bungie employees did fly
With the a breath of relief they celebrated their success —
And then, in the twilight , some of them began to head home
To sleep soundly in beds that had seen little use.
As midnight drew on to dawn, and the players kept playing on,
Down went Sepiks Prime for the very first time.
Soon guardians were dressed all in better gear , from their head to their feet,
And their clothes were all beginning to look really neat;
A bundle of glimmer they all started to collect,
And soon things were going so smoothly
that the players began to enjoy PvP as well.
Soon the armory was empty as it was completely raided!
And as the players played on all that was said —
“See you starside guardian, and have a good fight!”
