Gamespot gave Destiny 6/10
GameSpot said that Destiny was repetitive and short. The review score was 6.0/10. What are your thoughts?

2 RepliesPolygon also gave it a 6. Listen to their arguments. I love the game but they have valid arguments. The biggest being that the game isn't as massive a world as Bungie was hyping.

I can agree with a few things, but guys, remember that [b]this game is an MMOFPSRPG.[/b] As much as Bungie likes to say it isn't, it is. With the meeting others randomly and content updates being brought in the future, I can safely say this is an MMO.

Sounds to me like Bungie and Activision/ Blizzard didn't give Gamespot advertising revenue. Oh, didn't you know that game companies who don't or do pay the websites for advertising are treated differently? http://kotaku.com/5893785/yes-a-games-writer-was-fired-over-review-scores That was for Kayne and Lynch, probably a game most people didn't play. Final thought: Stop listening to reviews from people on independent websites who get most of their funding on advertising from... Game publishers!

I usually enjoy GameSpot reviews, but I'm disappointed with this review. It appears to very shortsighted.

I am fine with 6/10. My personal rating is 7. Destiny is good, not great. There are areas where the game falls flat. But overall it is a LOT of fun to play. Bungie has a solid foundation to build on. That said, I dont remember the last time a professional review affected my opinion of a game.

1 ReplyIt's basically an MMORPG mixed with a shooter. With any MMO there is usually loads of patches and additional content. There review isn't wrong yet if you had built up expectations then clearly they're liable for their own assumptions.
