Missions ending with bosses are not fun in anyway what so ever. It's either vs waves of enemies or fight a single boss who is a BULLET sponge.
I've spent the last TWENTY minutes shooting bullet after bullet into the bosses head and he's not even down to half health. This is with a full fire team also!
It just isn't fun. I dread strike missions now, clearing a schedule just to kill one boss isn't fun it's tiring.
Edit: People are saying "bosses ain't hard" etc. It's not about being hard, it's about the grind of 20 mins shooting a single enemy in a tiny arena. It doesn't take skill to defeat the enemies but time instead

Yeah, their idea of a "challenging" boss fight is ridiculous. I'll admit a boss should have a lot of health, with adds (Mobs), phases, and unique abilities and obstacles (ie. floor crumbles away revealing lava, or the walls are closing in, hurry up!), but the current setup is terrible. Take note of what other MMOs are doing to enhance their instances/scenarios/dungeons and do the same. The only real obstacle Destiny has to struggle with is making challenges with a first person perspective in mind. It's two different things: watching a football game, and actually being in one. It's hard to get an idea of everyone's position on the fly in an FPS, but boss fights can still be fun, just not how they are now.

As my levels and weapon damage increase, the bosses are taking less time. Going into a level 22 strike with a level 21 character required a long time. The same strike with a level 23 character took half the time.
-
Yeah I know what you mean but this is an mmo. Bosses are supposed to take awhile. The real challenge is laying that long without dieing. I hope the raid stops reviving players.
-
I agree, I spent ages doing the Mars strike thinking 'I better get a good reward for this' because this has taken ages and I only got some rare goblets.
-
I found the fat guy with the rockets and minigun on Mars quite fun. That ogre on the moon though...
-
I don't mind bullet sponge bosses or waves and waves of enemies. However, I'm not a big fan of facing both at the same time and this game loves to throw both at you at the end of storyline levels and strikes. You can't in take out the small fry first and then tackle the bullet sponge boss because the hoards of minions just keep spawning.

Edited by Skeletow: 9/15/2014 5:31:02 PMWith a good fire team or some of my friends we can beat most bosses under 10min so they don't really bother me. What does though is deploying the ghost and killing waves of enemy's over and over.
-
It means you aren't appropriate level or your gear isn't good enough
-
I did too, and then I ranked up to a 24 and it isn't an issue anymore. I dropped the phagoth on the moon in 8 minutes with 2 other guys. Just take the time to rank up and then play the strikes afterward
-
I agree to a certain extend. They have too much health and it takes too long to kill. However I must say when I play wow there are raidbosses that take the same amount of time and I have to shoot frostbolts instead of bullets. In that extend I don't see what your problem is. But I do agree that it's clearly more boring to focus your gunfire for 20 minutes, squeezing your eyes and keep pushing the trigger button for 20 minutes as it is much more exhausting than pressing 1 for 20 minutes without looking. My biggest question about this is why do Strikes? If an average match in Crucible takes around 20 minutes and 1 boss takes about 20 minutes. Isn't it better to just do Crucible matches? I really want to know because I love to kill bosses but yesterday after 30 minute fight with the Archon priest we died on him having around 20% health. The succesrate is a little bit better in crucible and less exhausting.
-
I regrettably agree. Especially if you have one random Leeroy Jenkins, that decides to kamikaze the boss every respawn.
-
With a good team it shouldn't take that long. It just depends on how well you play together. I had a boss fight last 40 -blam!-ing minutes last night because the two guys I got paired with just ran and hid when the adds came out. Just leave matchmaking after the strike and go back in until you find some good people to play with. My experience has been if you play well together you can generally get 3-4 strikes in before somebody will leave. It's a lot more fun that way IMO
-
The only boss fight that takes anywhere close to that long is the priest fallen guy on Venus, mostly because the adds are actually really dangerous. Any other boss and my group almost always downs him in 10 minutes or less when we're equal level. Either your group sucks or your weapons suck.
-
If you have the skill to take on a boss that takes 20 minutes of sustained fire to drop half his life, then take that skill and get better weapons. Better weapons will allow you to kill them in 10 minutes or less. If you're exaggerating, well it's all your perspective and your impatience would lead me to suggest playing something like Clash of Clans or maybe Candy Crush...
-
I agree with this although the best suggesting I can give is to use snipers, they're boss killers and will have you beat the boss in less then 10-15 minutes maybe less
-
I actually yawned while playing it tbh

Edited by b2b Paincakez: 9/14/2014 11:00:40 PMI agree with bosses being boring. I wanna do the nightfall 28 strike, but since I have to pug it I guess I Will never get it Done. Wish they would let you join random fireteams for it like normal strikes
-
Idk after playing through everything and reaching 25 I still kinda feel like the boss's are to easy when everyone knows what to do and is geared for it.
-
Strikes are not that hard :/ ok, the moon strike was hard because we went into it a few levels below the required level of the strike. But, if you're level 19 on an 18 strike, your weapons also have to be above or close to level 18 as well. Not just you.
-
Most bosses have a spot that takes more damage. Other than that, yeah...it's a raid, dude.
-
The weekly heroic strike took forever and all 3 of us were over level 20!
-
I mean I'm just saying that they want you to fell the action when you're playing by fighting something for a while. I didn't necessarily mean anything like that
-
Edited by murrgh2014: 9/14/2014 9:01:19 PMSounds like folks on your team are doing low damage. With a great team, you can get through them more painlessly. Just checked your profile, you def need some better weapons. It helps.

What do you want? Easy bosses? Don't be such a crybaby about it
