Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?

I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

  • Titan is the weakest PvP but the strongest PvE class.

  • I would say weapons make a bigger difference than class.

  • I play a warlock and hunter, and the only class that gives me trouble is the Titan. Warlock melee is op. Hunter is under-powered. Seems like Titan is too with shoulder charge

  • Only thing I hate about Titan is the fact their melee sucks. Default punch and storm fist/disintegrate suck compared to the other class mee and Titan is meant to be THE melee class.

    • the titan is strong too. the striker has: lightning grenade shoulder charge ult defender has is more pve but: magnetic grenade their melee is tooled around setting up off trash the ult can give refreshed dmg or overshield. your strikers shoulder charge doesnt use a cd. its an instant kill with a lot of aim assist. once you get past the fact that their melee is actually pretty bad you'll do okay. if you're with a team you take point. throw that nade and start your party and bust thru the door. try and insta kill the first person u encounter with the melee, if theres too many ult. you want cqc stuff, ar's and fusion rifles. shotguns are an issue due to your melee being shit and all, and u have no gap closer like a vw or bd so try to use a fr instead. your heavy can be a rocket launcher, their catapult makes it great for that. the defender is gonna want cqc weapons, but give him a shotgun and machine gun. abuse the hell out of your magnetic grenades and find the spots on the map that will let your ult dominate. the overshield basically guarentees you'll beat everything short of getting ulted in the bubble which actually happens a lot.

    • My friends mains a titan and wrecks people in crucible. He mainly uses shoulder charge and murmur or another fusion rifle for the majority of his kills.

    • I play as all three classes in the crucible. The reason why the titan isnt played that much, in my opinion, is because people see the titan and want to take him out quickly as possible due to obvious reasons. The hunter is basically a sniper so they hang back. The warlock to me seems more like fire/artillery support due to their nova bomb power so he is the next target to go for. But i also think titans arent played very much because their also slow to move around with.

    • Try all three classes, see what one best suits your play style... Titan do have the worst PvP special, but also a awesome shoulder charge. ;)

    • I've gotten better games when my Titan was level 12 than when my Hunter is level 28. Not bragging, just stating my Titan is better (at crucible [usually, I may have just been on a streak while I happened to have my Titan active])than my Hunter. So, idk. Maybe a Titan just isn't your play style.

    • Its not you as titans do appear to be a bit weaker in PvP. However after bringing my Warlock into PvP and realizing some stats my Titan has gotten much better. My current overall KD is no indication of that but my last 15-20 games with my Titan has been very good usually 1.5-2.5 KD. Striker is my go to subclass especially for control which can level the playing field with the press of a button. And since it can break through defenders shield and stop bladedancer and god mode for Warlock it has its uses. Defend zones more and you will see your KD go up. Its easier to hold one than to try to take one. If your like most titans out there, which I am, there is a superman complex where you feel you can run into a hail of bullets and survive lol.

    • Uhhhh no. You will never top the scoreboard like say an arcblader but you have crazy good grenades that let you lock down a hallway totally. Suppressor will knock a bladedancer out of their super! FoH is great with aftershocks and good placement. Shoulder charge is the single most OP thing on crucible besides maybe scorch with the overshields on hit. If you play aggressively with a shotgun and a good auto, understand how to use shoulder charge correctly then you will do fine

      • Titans aren't "weak" at all--they are a support class through and through (yes, even the Striker). As a Titan, you should have a great K/D, but shouldn't expect to have the most kills every game. Having to be so close to everyone to get the kill tends to slow down the kill count a bit, especially when you consider how precise your Super use need to be.

      • Control with Defender Titan is great. Run Armor of Light. Anyone coming in your bubble is dead. I've straight up punched a bladedancer to death inside my shield. If you happen to have the Helm of Saint-14 then anyone coming inside your bubble will get blinded and you will also be nearly indestructible so you will win those fights most of the time. Use either Magnetic Grenade or Suppressor Grenade. If you stick someone with the Magnetic Grenade, they will most likely die. With Suppressor Grenade you can prevent people from using their supers, throwing grenades, using special melee abilities, and even double jumping.

      • I feel like titans are a little underpowered compared to warlocks and hunters. Seems like you need to be really good to run one effectively. I've run into some really good Titans that mastered shoulder charge and they're really tough. Pvp is all about experience and learning from your opponents.

      • For one it depends how you are playing, two it depends on where you are shooting and how often you are missing, three it depends what game mode you are playing. My friend runs a Striker Titan in Control where he plays as a skirmisher which means he just floats around, engaging when needed and capping when help is needed. He also holds his super back when he knows there is a Arc Blade in the room so he can take them out in one hit and the team doesn't have to deal with them. I defend objectives by patrolling. We don't run around like headless chickens. You have to play within your means and skill. Aim for the head. Each class has the same armor and shield as each other in Crucible. My friend and I usually are top 3 in the room every match just by not trying to play this like a Call of Duty twitch styled shooter. Idk if that helps but it is possible to get up there man.

      • Well if you think about it the other two classes have longer melee ranger than the titan and have "seeker grenades" which if you look at it the only one with using on the striker is lighting grenade and sometimes that can be hard to set up and defender is the magnetic grenade but I can't tell you how many times I've tossed it at some one and its "smart tracking" caused a good though to miss because it moves around the target I shit you not. Add to that the word of dawn can be made a bitch out of every other super and Id say Ya they are a bit weaker than the other classes but no big deal I still -blam!- from time to time in PvP
