Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?
I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

3 RepliesI've seen success with a Titan using bubble near control point so allies can all get shields. Makes for a quick effective control point takeover and localized orb generation

Titans are the worst PVP class easily. But there really isn't a huge difference. You get 2 or 3 supers a match. The rest is gun skill. If you are getting owned with any class it's because you lack gun skill.

Weakest? No Risking Bacon? Yes Titans are strong, but to get kills you usually have to run to the front lines which can get you killed if you're not used to assault. I'd say warlocks are the weakest, but if you let them live they will melt you

You just need practice. You should focus on finding and maxing weapons that work with your play style (i.e. Shotguns for melee builds). Also, a wired internet connection will give you about 0.25 seconds longer to react before you get killed.

1 ReplyI've noticed that the mobility and health for every class is quite similar, I honestly can't tell a difference, maybe you guys can, but I have noticed a very big difference in regeneration, especially warlocks. They start regening almost instantly. And it's not abilities, I know for sure. Anyone else notice this?

If you ever come across a saint 14 helmet A defender Titan can become an undertaker pretty easily. I mean I'm an awful Titan but I'm just one person Other titans I've seen wreck shop left and right And then they leave without paying for anything

Maybe it's just not your play style I find all of my characters pretty even in PvP.

I think it depends on what class you started with. I'm a decent player with my hunter because that's what I started with. If I'm taking the game seriously, I'll put up 5000 pts with this class. When I play with my Titan, I never really go above 2.5 k/d and rarely surpass 3000 pts when going try hard. I have friends who rock a Titan really well in the crucible though so I think it just depends on your play style. *pts in control*

Yeah titan is the worst PvP class armour is useless they don't have homing nades that chase you a mile and only have to be thrown in the general area to lock on their normal melee has the least range and one of the slowest attack speeds most of the titan abilities are base on chance like the perk that gives a chance to instantly cool down while most if no all of the other 2 classes perks give guaranteed buffs and they are the slowest "but Mr.titan shoulder charge is one hit and it's so op" there is nothing SC can do that running with a shotgun can't do ten times better their super is a one time close range super that suck major compared nova bomb or arc blade you can still succeed with the class in PvP but you would have a much much easier time succeeding with the other two class

I have always been a Titan and am annoyed if I don't get top score. U have to be a striker which gives u a lot more fire power against your opponent. Defender is useless unless you are playing as a full on clan. U need to use the titans strengths or u will just fail. Run about with ur shoulder charge ready to stop shotgun boys. Use lightning pulse grenades but fire them at the walls not the floor. And make sure you have your extra lift on. Titans don't seem to be able to jump as high. It's what works for me every bodies different. I also find control is the best pvp for titans too.

Titans main attribute is Amor and since armor does basically nothing that kills the whole point of using the titan because that's there main focus of being able to take the hits and be a tank the Battlefield . If we are all dying at the sometime and we are the bigger class we die easier. So we are big for no reason and also we have no range supers like Warlock and Hunters, so we have to run towards the enemy instead of being able to throw or shoot supers.(But we can panic super so that comes in handy) If a titan has a bubble up just run or keep some distance so he won't sticky you coming out of shield. Warlock and hunters have the best nades by far mostly Warlock because you have to do the 40 Yd dash just to not get hit which is stupid cheap, you just throw it and it does all the work for you. And Hunters have one hit kill nades as well of homing nades. Warlock and there stupid long as crap melee which pushes you plus puts you on fire and gives them an overshield without needing to kill you. As for Titan (when using Defender class) we have to kill you in order to get the OS and our OS and health goes down at the same time. Hunters have blink(so does Warlock) and that crap is annoying and gay. Blink Shot gun is dumb, aren't the titans the ones that suppose to be on the front lines and not the other way around. Yes people complain about shoulder charge but it's so easy to shot gun them in the face, its a high risk high reward type move. I just feel if bungie made the Amor stats actually count an made a difference like Speed and Recovery Titans would be on par because I don't feel like a tank on battlefield.

I'm a defender Titan 99% of the time, purely for the mag grenades, basically don't even use the shield because you're asking to be taken on by the whole team. I wreck face so it just sounds like you're bad.

Although, if you're getting rekt, I don't think it's the class that's the problem. Each class is good enough to hold their own, but I think the Hunter and Warlock have better skills available for PvP than Titan's. Hunter's and Warlock's have the better supers. Hunter has Golden Gun, which can be shot from 10 miles away and Arc Blade, which gives you additional shields and agility. Warlock has Nova, which can be launched from further away. You don't have to run right up to the enemy and put yourself at a greater risk. Fist of Havoc is good panic super, but to use it effectively, you sometimes have to run a long way towards the enemy, It gives them a chance to kill you before you make it up to them. Ward of Dawn is useful when capping a flag, but can easily be destroyed by another super. Destiny is also massively different to Halo and Battlefield. You might need some more time to adapt to it.

I have about 160 of my 275 hours played on my Titan so far, and a huge portion of that is in crucible (I have a day more played in control alone than any other PvE or pvp mode in the game, to give you an idea). Are you on PS4? I'd be happy to get into party chat with you some time and give you some strategy/gameplay help and run some crucible matches together so you can get the hang of it. The learning curve is steeper than the other two classes but just being easier doesn't necessarily make them better. ;)

Dude it's neither, unlike battlefield and halo the crucible is a whole new beast that does take some getting used to. And one class isn't better than the other imo, they just take a certain play style and do take some getting used too. I'd start another class if u don't want to be def and handy with a shotgun on the defender or extremely aggressive at close range using melee with the striker.

Check my stats - I put 418 crucible games on my Titan until I finally gave up and leveled a Warlock in a hurry so I could get more competitive. The only reason I didn't went Hunter instead is because around that time there was talk by Bungie that they were going to rebalance the classes and I figured the Hunter would be nerfed. Now I kind of regret it and as soon as I'm done with Iron Banner I'll take a few days to level a Hunter to 20 and switch my weapons to it. Basically it boils down to the supers. Titans have to go where they want their super fired but never make it there because they don't have the armor, Warlocks can shoot it from a distance but still need their targets to be lumped together, and finally the Hunter has 6 or so seconds of invincibility where he can put his super on players one by one and they don't need to be in a group, he'll just pick them one at a time. As a result, the Hunter's super is a guaranteed multi-kill, Warlocks sometimes and Titans a single kill most of the times (hence the panic joke).
