Are Titans the weakest in the Crucible, or am I just worse than I think?
I've tried Crucible over and over. My friends tell me it's fun, and that you have to get use to it, but they're playing as Warlocks and Hunters. I'm constantly being wrecked by players, that are mostly Hunters and Warlocks. Even thinking about it, I don't really see that many Titans in the Crucible. The Titan abilities seem to only really work in defense, even the Striker Subclass. Is any other Titan just getting destroyed out there? I'm good at games like Halo and Battlefield, and I'll admit, I'm not great at Crucible, but this is out of control! Does anyone feel the same? Are Titans a weaker PvP class?

6 RepliesTitans supers suck for pvp. However, Juggernaut and shoulder charge can greatly make up for it. Running around with a shield lets you get up close and personal, and you can take out guys with one shotgun shot

It's all about playing your type. My playstyle is accentuated best with the Hunter. I [i]can[/i] play as the Titan, but I usually only do PvE with it. The Warlock...is not my preference.

At least with the shield bubble you need to be very tactical, which is very difficult after playing as the other class, which is more in your face.

As one person said be sure to save your super and dont use it on one person that's about to kill you. Save it for groups... it will give you a warm fuzzy feeling when/if you pull it off just right. On a rare occasion I will unleash my super on one unfortunate soul, but that is only because that have really pissed me off! lol.

5 RepliesIn ways yes but use abilitys to their strengths, change yours perks around for pvp. Warlocks are pretty shit tbh the only thing going is the grenade as both supers are shite and hunters abilitys are op atm the blade dancer has to much overshield and the golden gun is for panic skank noobs. Stick with titan trust, they are boss and always will be

I recently started playing as Defender, instead of Striker. Intially there was a slight learning curve, you have to play a little different, but since then, I have loved it in PvP. Taking and defending control points is so much easier than before. I am also wearing the Helm of Saint-14 helmet...this blinds any player that enters in to the bubble, which makes it essentially suicide for an enemy, unless he uses his super.. I have been countered by another players super, maybe 10% of the time...so far, completely woth it for me, and my teammates.

Nah they're pretty much the same as other classes I was nearly top in most of my games last night on my lvl 5 titan. It's playstyle, strategy and adaptability that wins matches

9 Repliesthe biggest problem with titans is people who play them have a bad habit of wasting their fist of havoc on one person who is about to kill them, instead of saving it for a large group.

My only class is Titan but its more my teammates playing like pussies than the fact that I play as Titan.

IMO titans are incredibly OP. simply because fist of havoc goes through walls, pulse grenades, and shoulder charge. titans are ridiculous which is hilarious because everyone thought that they would be the worst class.

2 Repliesfor the most part, the titan is pve focused but in the pvp he does have some less than skilled attacks such as shoulder charging people or the panic striker.....

I mean look at hunters objectively. Invisibility in pvp? Arc blade? Warlocks shields and nova bomb which is a ranged fist of havoc. You can always do better but there is much more at the big picture that is wrong here. It needs to be addressed. Whether Bungie wants to or not. Forgot to add... a lot of the problem deals with how armor is normalized in pvp. Titan is designed as a class to take punishment but that has little to no effect in pvp. The result is other classes like hunters and warlocks built around speed, agility, and a shields have an advantage. It is sad but true..... Titan can still do good but it is an uphill battle against more OP classes.

I do okay in PvP on mine topped the K/D and total kills a few times, still learning to play though. I use a the Striker subclass and the sprint shoulder slam and melee. I have a high ping rate so trying to kill people with a gun is tricky.

Are Titans a weaker PvP class?[/quote] think you need to improve your titan skills I always see titans in my matches going around wrecking people with their one hit kill melee attack (not fist of havoc) that's just them using their melee all depends on the person and their skills with the titan. Also know that the fist of havoc can go through walls

It is still very strong in the right hands but yes it's the weakest. Since armor is normalized, it losses it's biggest advantage while the other two classes maintain their speed advantage. I wouldn't say underpowered, but def is less advantageous with its characteristics.

3 RepliesOur grenades are just awful for pvp and our fist of havoc is only useful if the enemy groups up in something like control mode, both warlocks and hunters have aimed supers and much better grenades. Hopefully we'll get a good subclass at some point, i think theres another one coming.

Shoulder charge and focus on upping your armour and agility stats. forget recovery. I use dead orbit armours to max out strength and discipline. The super just comes with kills and orbs. Use your agility to move as fast as you can and shoulder folks if you know they're alone. Be smart about it though. You can't just run into a group and hope to do well. Shotguns and Heavy weapons are the way forwards. Particularly the Zombie Apocalypse or Super Good Advice machine guns. Titan is probably the toughest class to be consistently good with imo (I'm sure others would disagree).

16 RepliesIf you look at the leader boards Titans are sorely lacking in the top 100. It is a sad state of affairs. Hunters are grossly OP when it comes to pvp with arc blade, invis, and other b.s. Warlocks fair well overall. Titan is built around armor and taking more damage which has been normalized in pvp. I believe Titans has slightly more armor due to class abilities but you still die to every one shot like everyone else. So the class design around defense is broken in pvp. It is not you. It is the class. It needs to be fixed but I honestly have no idea how. If you don't believe me check out the leader boards. It is hard to argue with hard data. And no.... good players do not only choose to be Hunters. Morons.
