Here is the part I don't understand (and mind you, I like to think I'm a pretty reasonable man) What's the point of a purple enegram giving you something different than a purple? They are rare enough as it is, why build in a sub rarity table to an already rare item?
It almost feels like someone a Bungie thought it would be fun to be cruel :(
Next weekend I should have enough motes to buy an exotic enegram from that dude but I'm afraid it has a 99% chance built in to be a blue.
This is def the only thing that's bumming me out from the game.

I know, right? I mean, you have to be really lucky two or more people line up and not notice your SpLaser going off for a two for one. At least, I think that's an achievement.

Yup, you got it

haha, that's true!

Exotic engrams are always exotic, But it's randomized class.

I'm never going to buy an exotic engram because I am 100% sure I'd get a piece if crap uncommon thing.

Do you buy a pack of cards (any cards that are part of a trading card game, like Yu-Gi-Oh,Magic the gathering,pokemon,etc...) and expect a great, rare, powerful card even if it says it could contain one? Do you buy rare packs in FIFA expecting a legend? But then end up getting some guy in a random league you've never heard of? Its pretty much a game of roulette. You spin the wheel and get what you get. Do I get pissed if I get a green in a rare engram? No, not really, I can use it for another character. Its a game of chance. You don't roll a die 5 times and expect to get 4. But *sips tea* thats none of my buisness

But I see it like playing the lottery. It's rare enough to win but what if it had another rare table built in that if you won you'd have to pay the state a million bucks (idiotic example I know). If they were all the same color and you had a chance for a purple, that would be a different story. But the color it self is already 'Rare'. You've beaten the mathematical odds so why add another level of odds (that are clearly stacked against you) Don't get me wrong, it's not the end of the world.. it's just funny

The way i see it say there are different amounts of items. There are infinite regulars There are 100 uncommons There are 50 rares There are 5 legendaries If you got multiple engram that gave rare items, you have a chance of getting that rare again and again until you have each one crowdin your inventory If you got a legendary 10 times theres a chance you could get every legendary or the same one each time. I know this example might make no sense but it's all random the game even says so. But the way i see it, switch those unwanted guns to a lower class character you have. Much easier. It's frustrating, but it could be worse. You could have gotten a 1000 light legendary armour for a hunter when your character is a Titan. (Thats just an example though)
