You have to do crucible or strike playlists. Then you can buy the gear you dont get from drops. Its hard and time consuming but you can upgrade what you get to get to lvl 26 im pretty sure

And also when we do the strikes I try to get them done on the hardest available level. But I have people telling me that they got their better gear from doing the lowest levels. Something don't seem right with that.

Guess again because I am doing the strike list and playing the crucible. I'm not farming low levels for gear. After I hit my 100 mark max in both for the week. Theirs no more to do their really. And I keep doing them over with other people to help them catch up. The games balance is off. It needs to be adjusted more.

Ofc it needs to be andjusted more. Game is barely a week out so lets have some patience. And strikes apart from the weekly ones are useless. Alot of time consumed for measly rewards. Farming on known spots is the way to go atm (sadly tho...). Quite tedious in a way, but more rewarding then doing strikes. I got 25 Rare and 3 legendary engrams with countless greens by simple standing on one spot shooting mobs that kept respawning. During that time I finished 5 grim challanges that gave me a legendary engram as bonus from the postman robot :). Switch that with some Venus or Mars chest runs and some Crucible PVP with doing bounties and 5 hours killed you dont even notice how fast.
