Title pretty much says it all. Am I wacko or does the Titan jump ability "Catapult" do absolutely nothing? There is definately no Catapult action. No burst of speed. Seems like a completely regular and short jump.
Confused.

Edited by Niap Terces: 9/21/2014 7:34:40 PMEdit: Lots of comments about classes. E.g. Yah this is nerfed, that sucks, not fair vesus Warlock or Hunter. To those posters, please don't take this the wrong way but: I'm not complaining about how I think Titan should be this or that; especially not compared to Hunter or Warlock. This has nothing to do with how I feel a Titan should or should not be... it's simply a statement of "Titan Catapult ability literally does nothing. Yo Bungie is this a bug? Am I missing something?". Clearly by the amount of other posters who are just as confused as I am, this is a bug. I'm happy to no longer feel like "Hey maybe I'm doing this wrong...". That's all. Thanks!

Catapult is fine the way it is. It's balanced. You just have to get used to it.
-
Yea, same experience here. I posted it a few days ago. Maybe when they did the update to get rid of the screen effect they deleted the ability or something. To me it seems identical to the first lift ability.
-
If anything, I found that catapult was a worse solution than the high jump. Titans kinda get shafted on jump abilities overall.
-
Add catapult to the list of underwhelming titan features
-
I got catapult earlier today and tried it out. I couldn't tell any difference from the first skill which gives the increased height. Seriously what is the point of this skill???
-
Yeah ive noticed that control seems to push me in a direction faster than this so called catapult ability. when i lift using control i fly forward much faster then the rest, maybe something was mixed up, has anyone noticed this as well or is it just me? O.o
-
Something does seem off. Maybe it's broken. Our class seems to have gotten the least amount of effort from Bungie. I imagine their whole studio is just filled to the brim with Hunters and Warlocks....
-
I also thought this when I unlocked it, I think the agility of your character is taken into account but haven't tested it. If it is it should be changed, it should be SUPER fast. It wouldn't be OP because blink is instant
-
Every Titan that I've been talking to has agreed on this point. Catapult is either broken or incredibly lack-luster. Considering that we're having to fight Warlocks and Hunters with Blink strike we should definitely get a REAL catapault that launches us in the direction we're trying to move in.
-
Fellow Titan here...........110% agree. This needs to be completely replaced with a more relevant ability
-
I thought it was just me. I just stayed with the increased height perk. The catapult seem no different than lift. Am i using it wrong? Lol
-
Was a little confused when I put it on. Definetely disappointed in the lack of catapulting
-
Yea I've asked the same question thinking maybe it's a glitch but I have no clue
-
Glad i'm not the only one! I was really looking forward to it and was very disappointed when I tried to use it and nothing happened. Hopefully this get's fixed in the next update.
-
It kind of works but not as much as it leads us to believe
-
Seeing all these comments agreeing with you, I would strongly recommend bungie fixes this
-
Yeah, it doesnt work
-
I don't play Titan, but I found that another user had a pretty good explanation explanation (I think):
You have to Sprint in the air to make it work. It sounds stupid but that's your problem. I've nearly maxed out my striker titan. I wanna get the raw speed upgrade and run around shoulder charging fools
-
Happy to see others have experienced the same disappointment. It's totally useless.
-
I agree. I just unlocked that the other night and tried it...I was disappointed and went straight back to my increased height.
-
I completely agree. I finally reached catapult and the only noticeable difference is now I can't jump as high. If I had known how terrible it was I wouldn't have bothered to go up my skill tree.
-
I haven't seen the skill tree, but my friend just got it last night. The normal jump is that short distance hop, but I remember him saying that if he presses the jump button three times (or something like that) he does a super high one. It sounds like a situational option to me: normal jump for quick distance hopping or the vertically fast and superior version (but seems shorter/slower horizontally). But don't take my words as absolute - I'm just a Hunter who repeatedly gets himself killed trying to learn to Blink.
-
Just use Death from Above in meantime! That Works great! Awesome animation too. :) Tho, as you cannot use it that often, as it's Super ability. So I agree they need to adress it.
-
I found using the increased control jump ability, jumping while sprinting actually "catapults" me. I move through the air faster, but def not higher. And I don't get those boosts on my defender one so I am not sure but I agree, the other classes get their blink thing, give us a sudden rocket booster to go up higher and suddenly or a boost for quick left/right lateral movement to avoid incoming.

Edited by Tubbybubz: 9/18/2014 2:25:07 PMI said the same thing.......I was expecting the scene from the new super man when he puts his fist to the ground (rocks floating around his fist from pure power) Then he breaks the sound barrier like 4 times into the air......that was what I thought when I saw catapult.
