exclusive: cryptarch caught on camera
Ever wondered why you trade in a purple engram and end up getting a super soaker 3000? Is it random? Apparently a new video released to hive News says it is now. It claims to show the cryptarch stealing legendary items then substituting them and finally selling them on eBay intergalactic under user name crypty45. He had also been reported to be making substantial payments to tower escorts and buying faberge orbs.
A complaint was initially raised after exon the awoken traded in items and thought something was wrong "I traded in an exotic engram expecting to get a gun called the legion of doom. Instead I got a picture of the legion of boom and I'm a 49ers fan".
It is unsure though how the footage and account were obtained. Rumours of hacking have been strongly denied. The crucible have agreed to do a full investigation.
In other news Aksor the priest was broken out of jail today only to be brutally murdered by the same three guardians who released him. The fallen church have claimed attacks on priests are on the rise. More on that as it comes in.

I had the same thing happen to me. I got a legendary engram also. Turned it in and got a blue/rare gauntlet. Highway robbery i tell you. I would have even settled for a legendary item for another class. At least i'd have it when I made my other classes and needed it. Stupid engram guy has alzheimers I swear. Next thing he'll be saying in a Blill Clinton voice " I did not have sex with....er I mean give you the wrong item for your engram."

well if it makes you happy I played about 10 matches in crucible in a row came in first with a boss lvl k/d and on that 10 game the person who came in 4th got a Exotic gun the Thunderlord and I got a green(uncommon) engram lol this game hates good players

29 RepliesSeriously, the way engrams work is starting to kill my enjoyment for Destiny. I have better luck opening sticker packs in PVZ Garden Warfare than decrypting engrams with the cryptard. I got an exotic helmet engram, and the beetch gave me a Highlander type 3. WTF!!!? What is the point of breaking my arse in the crucible? Number 1 in 3 consecutive matches and the asshole that got a K/D of 0.34 gets the Exotic Auto Rifle Hard Light (The one I'm after). I'm giving the game a chance. Maybe bungie will fix this whole shenanigans with the upcoming hot fixes. But if they don't I am not seeing myself playing destiny any more in 3 weeks. Maybe a month tops. All effort I put in the crucible, strikes, just to see the lazy noob get the goodies while I get the uncommon crap? No. The only good shite I get is from leveling the vanguard ranks. Got the shadow price, The vanguards do actually give you stuff. Not like the cryptard and that fat guy Lord Shaxx, tough on the outside but big of a pussy on the inside. I AM THE CRUCIBLE, WE ARE THE CRUCIBLE!!! Not you. You just say the crucible is for winners and for the fearless... Oh really? so why in the flying fawks you give better rewards to the players that didn't do any good, and nothing to the top ones? Explain to me that sorcery Lord Shaxx. Explain it to us. The game is good, has potential, but this awesome flaw just wastes it all.

If this is the case then the cryptarch is not at fault at all but the game design. By the way the design leads will be in the crucible tonight. Retribution anyone? Yep the rarity of the engram is not connected tothe rarity of the decode. It is in the game design then. Source: destiny wiki engram. So are all the myriad of complaints coming out of stuff in a game design that we expect to be logical? Hmmm... it is what it is. to quote a friend.

I had a purple engram give me an exotic shotgun named Universal Remote! I was so excited! Then I read that you can only equip one exotic weapon and one exotic piece of armor. Bah... I was less excited. Still excited, mind you... only less so.

Loot drops simply should not be totally random. Thatis just stupid and lazy. Go look at any borderlands loot table for how it should be done. And if you say you did that then you must have screwed it up. The level of the player that killed the enemy, and the level difference of the player versus the enemy, plus the random give the outcome. What you are doing is like terrarmorphus dropping gear for a level 3 character. Did those that are complaining have any low level people near them when they got a crappy drop? If that is the case then the mmo model strikes again! So a high level player near me when i kill an enemy will not change the loot drop? It sure makes the enemies suddenly level up! Meh nobody seems to read these things or care about them. Nothing will change since it is built into the basic design of the game. I suppose situational awareness becomes the key to getting good loot in this design? Carefully move away from erverybody before you put that last bullet into the enemy lol. I still love you Bungie and all those who haunt the forums.

2 RepliesMy Cryptarch was [i]only[/i] level 8 when he gave me my 2 legendary weapons, [i]and[/i] they were from blue engrams. Granted, both legendary weapons could've eventually been purchased from both the Crucible and Vanguard vendors, but I was stoked I got them for free and didn't have to waste any marks on them. Buying legendary armor is the way to go, where as with weapons you're better off finding them. [i]Unless[/i] you can get a good exotic from Xur. Grab his stuff immediately.
