I just found out that recently that when you go to a sorta knee deep puddle or body of water and shoot your foot, you can take damage and even die. Shotguns can instantly kill you.

I'm not sure if that's a bug. I remember in some of the old halo games I was able to do the same thing and if I recall correctly it was a feature. However I may be wrong so I will check it out.
