I sooooo hate Sticky Reticule... >:(
If you don't know what Sticky Ret is, it's when your gun gets pulled for half a second when an enemy crosses your aim point. It's supposed to help you aim with a controller but I find that it ruins shots as much as it helps... especially when you are in the middle of a lot of enemies. Have you ever gone to shoot at one target and another enemy moves across your sights and then you fire and miss both because the game yanks your rifle saying "LOOK IT'S ANOTHER ENEMY".
I hate it when it's normal but I just rage quit because the damned thing was going extra bonkers on me... I would have an enemy go across my aim and I would suddenly turn about 45 degrees AWAY from where I wanted to aim... (this was the Archive daily mission). I was doing great and then suddenly I couldn't aim for crap... as soon as an enemy moved in front of my sights it was like someone gave my gun a huge slap. A stealth vandal and a Dreg were running at me on the bridge and I go to shoot and suddenly I am aiming away from them as soon as they were in my sights... WHAM... dead. Thought it was just the one glitch but it happened again next run.
Now this was probably a bug/glitch (this is the second time I have played Archive and had a ton of problems) but it just made me realise how much I hate these aimbot-lite assists THAT WE CANNOT TURN OFF. Trying to lead a target and then have the gun yanked from where you are aiming just drives me NUTS. Snipers especially miss simple shots because of this.
Some people like it.... some don't. I would love to see it as an option rather than forcing everyone to have it. It's one reason why I keep saying I'm going back to PC gaming where aimbots are banned totally.

Edited by X--DoloMight--X: 1/23/2015 9:28:23 PMSticky reticle what the -blam!- are you talking about? It's called auto assist. People might know what the hell your talking about if you called it the right name.

Halo 4's Aim Assist is the worst. You actually have to pull your reticle away from whatever it's locked on to.
-
If it worked like many other shooters where it snaps to the enemy closest to your reticle when you ads but wouldnt follow them if they moved then it would be a lot better system.
-
People have been asking for the option to turn it off since release. Bungie doesn't listen.
-
Oh I'm gonna get him. Lines up shot. SQUIRRELS!
-
What i want to know is why sticky grenades fall off people and are inconsistent.

I can see where it could have its advantages, in theory, but I seem to have the same problem as you described. And normally, it is always in a hectic situation. You either get that shot off or die.. So you pull the trigger right when a mob runs in front of whatever you are aiming at and you miss... And then you die... I have often wondered if there was a setting that you could turn off on this. Granted, there are times where it has come in handy, but the majority of the time it screws me up.

Agree. Hate that crap.

I would rather like being able to disable the auto assist for aiming. Sometimes it is useful, however a lot of the time, it is not.

I can't use a keyboard for very long because my wrists start to hurt, so whenever I play an FPS on PC I always plug in a controller. Playing without aim assist is not that hard, and I have no idea why people say it's a necessity for console shooters
