Reasons to go vegan.

Reasons to go vegan: 1. Animals have to live in a little cage for their whole life. 2. Millions of baby roosters are thrown in the grinder because they're useless. 3. Calves are taken away from their mum and slaughtered, so you can take the cows milk for yourself, this happens one time a year for each cow, to make sure they don't stop giving milk (they need to have calves to give milk) 4. As you can see on the image, meat industry causes global warming. 5. Because meat industry wastes so much farming grounds, veganism can stop world hunger. 6. The seas are almost empty because of overfishing, 90% of the catch is bycatch (also whales, sharks and turtles that are almost extinct) and the nettings destroy the coral reefs, that are needed for life on this earth. 7. There are kinds of food that give, almost just as much proteins ad meat does and proteins are the only thing meat gives you, if you don't believe me, look at oxes or gorillas, they're vegan and healthy, scientists also say meat causes cancer. 8. It's just wrong to let animals suffer just because you're afraid to try vegan. If you still have a reason to not go vegan, say so. If you don't, you should go vegan right now!
*hugs monkey*
Edit: for more information about vegan health and nutrition: http://www.veganhealth.org/

      • Also, quit using false information to "scare" people into this. Reasons 1, 2, 3, & 6 are seriously the same thing. "Animals mistreated", which won't stop even if every became vegan. Animals would still be slaughtered for skin, bones, other uses. You're a fool if you think plants give you the same benefits as meat. That's only if you take supplements, and those have side effects. There is no scientific study that meat causes cancer. PROCESSED, meat MAY, but it's the OVERCOOKING of meat that causes cancer, which can be done with plants as well.

        • I couldn't go vegan. I wish I could. But I can't. Honestly, if you made it so I was physically unable to consume meat and dairy products, I'd probably just wither away and die of starvation/malnutrition.

              • The only reason I'd go vegan is when the girl I'm dating is really hot and requires me to. Afterwards I'd eat a bigass steak. Vegans and vegetarians always look 'slow' and unhealthy to me. Meat might be murder, but it's powerfood aswell!

There are none and it's not healthy. Go vegetarian but vegan is just hard on the body. Also, the global warming craze is just dumb.

                              • Because it takes just as much or more processing to make milk from a damn bean or vegetable. Vegan food diets are not as natural as they seem especially if buying prepared food.

If you don't, you should go vegan right now!
*hugs monkey*

Alright I'm not sure if this is where I write this, but hey it's a learning journey this life so I may as well learn through trials. Okay, I agree with the hate you feel about the treatment of livestock. I am a meat eater and I love my not meat foods to, we need both. But before you feel that I sympathise with your fight or feel that I am against you I have a question or two for you.. ready? I presume you look into the eyes of the cattle, sheep, chicken, duck, pig or fish and think you see emotion or a quality that needs preserving. I say presume but maybe I mean assume as you as far as I can tell have not really mentioned that you feel that way it's just a feeling I have that you do, with that said, the questions. Have you ever killed a spider? A fly? A cockroach? A tapeworm? An ant? A tick? A flea? An aphid? A snail? If you have then there is no other word for it than hypocrisy. Though it is difficult to see them they have got eyes to some extent they also have instincts. They have just as much a right to the life you offer the larger beasts don't they? If you have killed any of them how are you any different from the poor meat eaters you are vilifying? If anything you are worse in some respects, as you have killed them, you would have made the choice that your comfort or well-being trumped their right to freely live, where as the vast majority of western meat eaters buy the butchered animal in the store, they never chose the creature that they ate and they never had a direct hand in its death. (Sure go on a tangent about supply and demand) In fact if you have even moved them from where they were when you encountered them you have impacted their freedom to roam and seek shelter or food.. who or what gave you the right to do that?? Consistency is key here when one has such strong beliefs. On to your beliefs and your attempt to convert me, you have given me very little reason to turn vegan. The overly corporate and industrial nature of the way the food industry operates may be a better title as it seems a lot of your focus is on how they operate but not really on the eating of meat and why we shouldn't (again, enter supply and demand argument). The question's were based on the presupposition that you have killed one or many of the creatures listed. The later part just a general observation. If however, you have never killed or relocated one of them then you receive a 'well done kiddo' sticker for being the nicest person ever and you are an inspiration :) If you have though as mentioned, hypocrisy is your only prize here and you can look at your face in the mirror and whisper "I'm a murderer" Or we could take the plants have the right to live approach but that takes too long to talk about, we would be at this all night talking about genes and chemical expression of emotion and the links between pain and suffering and foliage.. so I won't mention that. I admire your convictions and wish you the best with your hunt to destroy jobs and in turn the well-being of entire families and towns leading to a potential economic collapse with your crusade to end world hunger through animal emancipation. I mean no offense and completely appologise for any I may have caused, the tenacity with which you defend your beliefs and your willingness to speak up even though you knew you would be attacked is what encouraged me to write a post back. Thank you for your strength and first world freedoms :)

                                      • This is a narrow minded way of thinking. Without the meat from animals you would not be on this planet today or even have your opinion!! There is no reason to turn vegan, in fact you are less healthy that a meat eater, so get your facts straight. - yes, caging animals to make them fatter, or drugging them is of course wrong. Meat, dairy and fish could all be supplied in a humane way of course. - in regards to the veggies you eat today, most likely the larger percentage are not native to your country. Just like the animals we eat, the majority would not survive without the assistance of Human intervention. - you cannot have everything you want in this life. -Don't cut the trees down (write a letter petition on paper...) paper comes from trees... -Stop global warming (bet you have an unreliable VW hippy van that east petrol... There is an argument to every point, if you don't like meat, don't eat it... You don't like the way that it's killed? Would you risk your life for a cows? If your answer is truly yes, then you better start writing letters (on paper) to try and prevent innocent cow massacre then board your windows and doors to stop the enraged stake lovers hunting you down and cannibalising you... As you can see this might be a bit drastic... But at the end of it all just proves, there is balance in this world and without it, we would all be absolutely FU**ED just like the vegans!! Thank you

                                              • Moderation. I can tell you right now that the farming industry would have a much tougher time if everyone was vegan. Crop growing isn't as simple as throwing seed on the ground and harvesting. You have to consider soil nutrients, irrigation, harvesting, pests, and a host of other problems. You can shove more meat into one area to grow then you can plants. Farmers would have to expand their crops basically meaning throwing local wildlife out of their homes. Harvesting also has its casualties. A lot of animals get killed by harvesting equipment then you think. More vegans=morehavesting=more animals killed.
