I'd just like to point out that none of what you posted constitutes necessity. Simply lacking motivation does not make meat a staple of the bodybuilding diet.
That said, it's remarkably easy to hit your macros on a plant based diet (there are vegan bodybuilding supplements as well). Obviously if you have no desire to do so then there's no point, but you did mention you'd be more inclined toward it if you weren't lifting, so I assume you must have some small reason to take an interest.
I just don't like seeing nutritional misinformation. Being in the fitness community for years now, this happens more than you'd expect.
