There is a nutrient found in animal and not In plants and without it you die so vegans take that as a supliment you would get it if you were a vegitarian

All life uses the same basic chemicals, if you eat a wife enough variety of plants then you may actually get more nutrients than you would from a meat diet. I vastly prefer steak salad to just a normal salad, but it is pretty easy to be vegetarian and still get your nutrients.
