There is so much pseudo science and speculation in that article that it hurts, not to mention the countless logical fallacies. I'm not even going to bother with you if you seriously think that article constitutes any sort of scientific evidence.

Edited by Shortbusregular: 9/23/2014 8:41:00 PMSo explain to me how global warming exists when a few winters ago there was snow in Texas.

Edited by Uncle Putin: 9/23/2014 8:50:21 PMAh, the single most common argument against global warming. I see this all the time. Global warming does not mean everywhere is going to get hot. It means the average temperature of the earth rises only by a few degrees, but this increase is enough to cause mass destabilizations in the global weather pattern. If a high pressure system is just a few degrees hotter, the wind will increase. Because the high pressure system is hotter, that usually means the low pressure system is colder and even lower pressure than normal. What does this do? It creates bigger storms. It creates bigger extremes. Hotter hots and colder colds. Of course you aren't ALWAYS going to experience extremes every year, but the extremes have been proven to be occurring more often than usual. Not trying to be condescending, but you should study more about weather patterns before making these claims.
-
Are you implying that there is an actual world outside the US?
-
Umm what?
-
You read that correctly.
-
I don't follow.
-
-
Alright well..... Thanks for admitting you're wrong lol.
-
The earth goes through periods of warming/cooling over time, that doesn't constitute global warming.
-
Ah yes, the 2nd most common argument, again proven to be false. Nobody is denying that there are indeed natural cycles to the earth, but those cycles have been proven to not be the case. The fact that you state that natural cycles happen proves you admit global warming is happening. That's the first step.

Edited by Shortbusregular: 9/24/2014 3:35:46 PMSaying the phrase "global warming" suggests that you believe that humanity is causing it, which I don't. Edit: next time you post an article, don't post one that gives one doubts about its validity.
Of course, it's always possible that some natural cycle exists, unknown to scientists and their instruments, that is currently causing the planet to warm.
Edited by Uncle Putin: 9/24/2014 5:03:49 PMWow you are a piece of work. I have absolutely no problem with admitting there's a small possibility that we are wrong. I don't know why you think that's a problem. The whole point of the scientific method is to admit that you can never be absolutely sure. I read everything in the article and I back it 100%. While it's possible we are wrong, the facts and data that we have still overwhelmingly suggest that global warming is caused by humans. There is no other possible explanation for what we are observing. It's a FACT that CO2 levels in the atmosphere are higher than they could ever be naturally. We have the ice records that indicate CO2 levels have never been this high. That is an unequivocal fact, whether you believe it's caused by humans or not. If you say that global warming is natural, then please prove to me that the levels of CO2 we're emitting have negligible effects. Please show me where the proof is, because I certainly have a lot of proof to the contrary. Where is this abnormal and unnatural amount of CO2 coming from? There is no logical explanation that we know of for the drastic increase of green house gases other than from our own emissions.
-
Please, tell me more about how CO2 is making the earth hotter.
-
Are you actually going to respond to my arguments like an intelligent human being or continue on your rampage of ignorance?
-
You going to tell me more or not? I really would like to know.
-
Not if you're going to keep sticking your head in the sand and slinging condescending overtones at me.
