Lol seriously. I predicted this from the beginning, before alpha. I said if you randomize drops, you are contradicting the very method you claim to pursue. You don't "earn " that which is randomly given to you.

Edited by nr2134: 9/25/2014 7:32:35 PMOut of the 40 purple engrams I collected I only had 1 turn into purple hood and 1 into an exotic piece of armor. The drop rates for the harder strikes suck and Im sick and tired of the purple engrams changing into blue stuff 6 levels below mine. I did a hard strike 2 nights ago and 1 guy on my team sat hiding the entire round. Granted, it kept me and the other guy alive by allowing us to re-spawn and the baddies did not go after him, but to give him a purple helmet when he fired 2 shots is complete BS.
-
ITT: OP doesn't understand random
-
WOW! gotta love that. that guy was probably afk and in the spawn the whole time. how nice of the game to give him an exotic for his troubles. from what i have seen in screenshots and personal experience playin the crucible. The best way to farm exotics and legendaries is to keep your guy in the same spot as where you spawn in or where you spawn after you killed. have a minimum of 10 deaths and 0 kills. you have 85% chance of legendary or exotic at end of match.

There aren't enough likes I can give to that meme

Lmfao 0.00 k/d Fap Fap Fap

LMAO the picture
-
So when someone goes 2/20 in crucible and gets an exotic that was earned. Pffff if all loot is random you dont earn it. I did raid yesterday every reward i got was shards. No armor no gun just shards.
-
Ouch... 0 kills 1 death but a exotic drop xD
-
By "earn" they mean time invested. Yes the loot is random, but the more time you invest in the game, the higher chances you have at actually getting good loot. But one things for sure: Trading is NOT the solution! Take any MMORPG with player trade and it ends up almost ruining the game in the long run. For starters, Destiny will end up appearing on gold selling sites. These are sites run by sweat shops, mainly in Asia, where they pay under-minimum wage people to play games 24/7, gather tons of ingame currency and loot, so that players like you and me can purchase them for real money. While some of you might find this to be a great thing, cause you're a rich @#)*@# and don't mind wasting your hard earned cash to quickly get better gear in a MMORPG, it's also leads to ingame advertisement spam and hacking. Do you really want to play Destiny, get dozens of random friend invites per day from complete strangers, only to realize all of them are glimmer sellers that want you to visit their webpage so you can buy X amount of glimmer for $50? Do you really want random people walking up to you every minute asking if you want to buy some rare Legendary or Exotic item from them? Even if Bungie added some kind of auction house system, wouldn't that make the game too easy and force players to quit sooner because they could simply reach level 20, go to the AH, buy a whole set of Legendaries and Exotic gear, reach level 30, raid, PVP and then get bored a few hours later? You see? Item trading is not the solution, especially not for this kind of game. I do agree that Bungie should somewhat revamp the loot system and reward those who do deserve better rewards than others. Like in that "NO TRADING" screenshot Aspersio posted above. That really needs fixing because that screenshot alone could influence thousands of players to not care and be semi-AFK in crucibles all the time cause they know they can win amazing loot for doing absolutely nothing. The game should detect which players are good and which players are bad, and give bonus "rolls" to their loot rewards if they performed well, and give penalty "rolls" to the worst players just to teach them a lesson that you need to play good if you want the best loot in the game.

I don't have a screen shot. But I've seen a 0.82 get Monte Carlo
-
I started taking screen shots when this happens I'll post later
-
I am on the verge of giving up on this game after this upcoming patch and the dumbing down of the rewards. I'll wait for the DLC.
-
Edited by Herodotus3: 9/25/2014 4:10:48 PMLet's be honest this game is sad. They ruined the game with whatever really poor equation they used to drop loot. Very poor design. The biggest problem is this equation and they need to cbange it. Most other problems stem from this problem.
-
You can get exotics from Crucible? Look at that guy? Ice Breaker and he didn't even get a kill??? What the crap???
-
Yeah, i got a -blam!-ing legendary gloves for my titan, oh wait i'm not a titan, i randomly won a item that is not even suitable for me, Bungie ladies and gentlemen, Bungie.
-
You gotta hope and pray you get lucky guardian, because we don't give you any way to actually earn it.
-
Well atleast everyone got shitty loot that no one wants go play quuens wrath or weekly nightfall to get atleast legendaries
-
bahahahahahaha... i laugh because it is true.
-
Yeah...that does need addressing. A 3.0 KD, assuming you scored the most and contributed to the team score the most, should seemingly mean that you get some decent rewards for your performance. At least a comment on it would be nice...but I can understand they have a Noah's Ark-load of network errors to work through. Good point though
-
Earn it real good. This is a normal game for me...
-
Ugh last crucible round I played, everyone got an item but me and I was ranked 3rd. Earn it my a$$
-
IMO whether or not you get performance rewards should be random. however, to unlock a CHANCE at legendary or exotic, you have to do "x" good. (example: first place has the same chance as last place at getting anything. however, last place only gets "blues", middle slightly better, top half a chance at legendary (nearly always blues though), and first place a chance at legendary/exotic (nearly always blues though).
-
Yesterday i done some crucible matches and in everyone i had over 25 kills with a 8>k/d In the final match i had 32 kills and a 9.0k/d rating....the rest of my team had some scrap kills as usual. But the guy at the bottom of my team with 3 kills and 14 deaths got an exotic. I was done....PS button > close application>throw down controller. You dont earn anything in Destiny other then whats at the normal vendors. The rest is luck.
-
I believe that only the top 3 overall or top 3 on each team should get the chance of RNG
-
This has happened to me twice before, but the shit guy getting motes of light or a strange coin has happened hundreds of times, only once have i been the lucky guy who got an exotic, but it was after a 8.00 k?d game.
-
That's annoying! I've always been last when I've given the crucible a go and didn't get shit.
