This is the reason I only play the crucible when a friend asks me to because he wants to play otherwise I never play. It's not that I'm bad but I'm tired of there not being a skill based loot system in the game. 5 games in a row I top listed and got nothing. Not a blue engram, a strange coin, a mote of light, an uncommon or anything while the bottom of the list all got rewarded exotics/legendaries. There is no fairness in this system. Only complete the match do whatever and get rewarded for not backing out.

Same here. In my opinion they should polarize the way the two loot rolls work, with low performance having a higher chance for an item but high performance or an in-match score higher than a certain threshold increasing the rarity of the loot that drops. That way people who are on the worse side have more chances to get an edge but when those who land towards the top of the leaderboard finally get loot it always feels rewarding.
