Hello Bungie team,
I know you've been getting a lot of hate about the dismantle changes to the Queen's Wrath mission gear. I can't say I'm happy about the changes, as that was my primary way of obtaining shards and energy, but I get it (and fortunately I had a bit of a cushion). But I do want to encourage you to make shards and energy slightly more available, as the lack of these resources will prohibit me, and many other players, from experimenting with new guns/armor and seeing items to their full potential.
My primary concern: PvPers. I consider myself a PvEer, but this change seems to be most penalizing to PvPers. It seems the most reliable and prolific way to obtain shards/energy now is the Vault of Glass. This is concerning because not every player (skilled or otherwise) will have 5 reliable teammates with which he or she can obtain the maximum amount of shards/energy on offer in the Vault of Glass on a weekly basis. This makes it seem like the Iron Banner will be skewed towards the higher leveled PvEers, thus giving them a higher chance at the exclusive PvP gear available. This does also have consequences for PvEers. As the system currently stands, I'm no longer going to upgrade any of my gear until I have Vault of Glass items to spend my resources on. This isn't a big deal for me because I'm 29, but most other players aren't and I feel this will seriously restrict their ability to progress through Vault of Glass and future raids/nightfall strikes.
My suggestion: we need to be able to buy ascendant shards and energy using vanguard and crucible marks. The current system of relying on sharding the (now nerfed) engram drops, daily 28 heroic missions, completing raids, and doing public events to upgrade our gear is unsatisfying, and unpredictable at best. An exchange rate of 10-20 marks for 1 shard/energy would be fine, but I do think the current exchange of 65 marks for 2-3 shards or 150 marks for 2-3 energy is too high. If a system like this is not implemented relatively soon, I will be sitting on stacks of vanguard/crucible marks because I've already obtained most of the gear/emblems/sparrow I wanted (also, please bring back the shaders).
Simply put, I think the system of relying on engram drops, public events, raids, and sharding legendary faction gear is a bit too slow. I am not trying to encourage shortening the lifespan of the game, as I am a major fan and would love to see it succeed further. But it does make me sad to think that it could take me 5-6 weeks (due to randomness) to collect all the resources I need to fully upgrade Thorn once it is restored to its intended glory, especially considering the fact that it only takes 2-3 days to collect all of the experience the weapon requires for maximum level.
Loving the game so far, thank you for all you do.

Totally agree. At this point the queens missions are almost pointless for us higher level players. Maybe make the queens missions playable on something like level 30, and beating it on 30 is the only way to obtain shards from it.
