Same reason you do I guess.
Don't think so. I actually like the game and enjoy discussing it with other people that do. I'm doing something useful. You're just wasting your own time.
Why do you play this joke of a game ?
Because I enjoy it and don't think it's a joke because I'm not a cynical, impatient, entitled gamer with impossible expectations like most people seem to be.

 •
impossible expectations like most people seem to be
Expectations create from bungies oversized servings of hype. The funny part is that bungie can't even meet their own expectations, falling well short and loosing some handy $$ in the process (can sense another overpriced DLC on the way). Glad you at least acknowledge the "most people" element. A lot of the fanbois refuse to acknowledge the many-many bad reviews and the very low gamer scores. Some claim a hate fantasy, as if all those haters voted against the game and the fans forgot to show up.
You're just wasting your own time
That's a little defeatist - do you honestly believe bungie will not listen?

Bungie says something, fans talk about it and before you know it the original comment is taken way out of context and interpreted to mean something entirely different than what it originally meant. I would also agree with the sentiment that Bungie can't meet their own expectations. That's common in creative fields. It's what keeps people motivated to constantly make it better (so that they can meet their own expectations) and one of the reasons why people often hate projects that they've worked on. From experiences with both game and movie reviews, critics tend to be overly harsh and focus on only the negative (after all, hate sells better than praise). Some things from reviews I probably agree with - this game is by no means perfect, no game is or ever will be - but I prefer to form my own opinion instead of blindly going along with what critics say.
That's a little defeatist - do you honestly believe bungie will not listen?
I think that you're time would be much better spent playing a game you like. But if you want to add your voice to the crowd, be my guest. I may not agree with you, but more power to you.

 •
I don't think Bungie is the reason for the hype ... Bungie says something
Hold on ... which is it ?!? Perhaps you could give us some examples of this theory of yours ...provides a few links were; - Bungie made a subdued statement; - The "community" made it into hype, and - bungie tried there best to clarify the situation. Given your claim that it is always the community it should not be difficult.
I would also agree with the sentiment that Bungie can't meet their own expectations. That's common in creative fields
That is rare ... most bungie fans are in complete denial of this failure. But it is not a "creative" thing - financial or contractual yes, and that is kinda obvious by the grey suits putting their name behind it.
I don't read reviews
You would be bungies perfect customer then - lol. How about those gamer scores ... thousands of people putting forward their view. Both the fanbois and haters get drowned out in the sheer average vote - the honest majority view.
much better spent playing a game you like
I do ... but you have gotta hope bungie are going to do something to improve the game ... they have 10 more years of this, and this should have been the golden time for the game.
