Tell that to the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS. The worst team in the league gets to draft first. They all seem to be doing very well. Also in school, the poor students get the extra help.

  • Forget about school and put this situation in the workplace of an adult.

  • So you don't like that it does happen in the real world, so you want to eliminate that fact to prove you are right? And the other examples? Those are adult jobs...

  • Real Jobs are the only thing that matters, good grades are nothing if you Can't find a job. I have friends that finished with the best grades in my class but they haven't Found a good job when i who got mostly B and C is working in a job that gives 43000 Krones each month.

You don't get a good job if you don't have good grades, so it has real world applications. You think the lawyer that graduates at the top of the class get paid the same as the guy at the bottom? Or a community college? No. So you get the extra help so you can get the better pay. That has everything to do with your job in the real world. And the reason those guys can't find work is because the Danish economy is in the crapper right now. People will take whatever they can find when there are few jobs out there... We don't have that problem here in America right now.

  • When you get a job you go to something called an intervju, to get into your intervju you have to Give them your curriculum vitae and your application. When you have given them that they will determined if they want to bring you in for an intervju or not based on your Grades, CV, Application, the way you write and the amount of time you have been away from school. If they like what they see they will bring you in. And there they will look at your personality, are you shy, confident do you find it awkward to talk to new people. They might not Even give you the job since you talk to much or you said some wrong things. It's not just get good grades. I know people in my class that didn't do as me but they are now managing an electrician company and in the next 2 years he will be a millionaire.

So you think that a perspective employer won't value a Valedictorian over a person with a D average? If you think that, you have other problems... You get to be Valedictorian by hard work and getting the help you need if you need it. It doesn't all come natural. It's a lot of hard work, networking, people skills, communication and perciverence. All qualities that employers want. That's the difference between an A student and a D student, and it make the difference in a perspective employers eyes. Have you ever hired a person? I have, dozens of people over the years. If they are young, I look at their grades and how they got their diploma. If they are older, I look at their work history. I value the person who worked their way up from stock boy to manager more then the person who's always been manager. Because that person put in the extra work. When he didn't have the skills, he earned and learned them. They got the extra help they needed, like getting the best equipment, and took that and made something of themselves.

  • If you think grades is the sole factor in getting a job i do feel bad for you.. If you get called in for an intervju you have done the hardest part, an intervju is only for you to tell them why you want the job why you are qualafied and for them to see your personality. Your average grade could be an A but your absence from school is High therefor they wont hire you and you wont get called in for an intervju. The main reason why companies want to hire employees is to make a profit of them and if they see that your absence is High so they figure that you wont be at work enough for them to make a profit of you.

  • No, it's not the sole factor. But if two people interview the same, and have similar history, background and grades. I am going to give the job to the person put in the extra work to get to that point. The person who got, and put to use the extra help that was offered. It shows charter and perseverance. They performed poorly, got the help they needed, and brought themselves up. You must be the reason why the Danish economy sucks. Blaming other for your problems, and not trying to find solutions to help yourself.
