I'm getting the same issue. Lots of centipede errors yesterday afternoon. It stabilized in the evening and I got some hours of progression in, but when I logged in today, my progress was reset to the way it was yesterday morning.
Edit: Never mind, I just logged in 10 minutes after and my progress has been restored.

unrelated, Most of us can't even get to the character selection screen.

OP was talking about a character rollback with items (and in my case characters) being reset to prior states.
