Ready to have your mind blown? The names of the hive. ( acolyte, knight , wizard ) all regal names associate with holy things. Guardian names now.( warlock , titan , hunter) associated with dark magic , destruction , and killing.

  • Plus it is pretty obvious that the Hive are evil. I mean, they look decrepid.. The names of the taken are all tortured, consumed, etc. Good doesn't do that to its people.

  • Wizard is associated in the same ballpark as Warlock.. In terms of religion eg. Christianity and those religions closely surrounding it, any kind of wizard or witch is evil and is to be burned.

  • Ok as a former Wiccan some of your fact check needs to be fact checked again. There was no sutch thing as wizards till the English Catholic power arises to eradicate the Anglo Saxons (aka Pagans). You are correct with warlock though. Warlocks are inherently evil. Male or female in pagan religions and Wicca are witches; the only deference there really is, is the Shaman the elder leader of a pagan group, or clan. Priestess in some pagan clans or groups, but they are also known as shamans. Hunter doesn't mean evil it's a profession. Titans are also not evil except for in a few and I mean very few pagan religions and one was in Greek but that was Kronos. But to put it in short ultimately one persons evil is another persons good. And in Destiny it is easy to see who is just EVIL and then you have groups where it's like. "They aren't evil but to us they're evil." And that is just based on how we view another faction or they view us entirely.

  • First I have to applaud you on the well written intelligent educated comment. That shit's rare 'round these parts :D A couple questions for you, because I have heard other Wiccans ridicule what you just said, and please don't take offense. The reasoning is the show Charmed that aired in the late 90s. On that show Warlocks were portrayed as evil, and a lot of Wiccans were pissed off because they said that a Warlock is a male witch. And that the show sensationalized false portrayals of Wicca. Also to give you a perspective on polarities. Be careful with the statement "one man's evil is another man's good." I believe the way you said it that you understand but there are a lot of control mechanisms out there that use the notion of good and evil to justify atrocities. I personally believe in the law that as long as you aren't harming anyone do as you will (which is similar to the WIccan rede). What you say about the Greeks is interesting. Again I think of the show Charmed, which used Kronos as one of the show's main protagonists in one of the seasons. Granted by the way this is JUST in response to your comment not the thread or the idea that The Traveler is evil. I honesty don't even have time to get into philosophy about the lore of a game right now LOL.

  • Plus the ogres are just a larger mutated form of the thrall. The grimoire cards say that about the ogres

  • The orges are often forced into serving the hive, look at the chains that bind them
