Do you think because animals are a little bit less smart, they can't suffer?

Nope, I know they suffer and are well aware of most things going on around them. It's easy to see just by looking in their eyes. All I was doing was pondering where we would be as a species if we didn't predominantly eat meat.

You're wondering were we would be, if we would take care of the weak? We would be on the highest place possible!

Humans are animals. What our ancestors did is irrelevant to what we should do.

But it makes me curious. Would we even be here if we didn't choose to eat other animals because we didn't want to hurt them? I think the other predators of the planet would have -blam!-ed is up thousands of years ago.

Edited by Pendulate: 9/28/2014 2:21:54 PMIt's still a poor argument to continue doing it. Take somebody born of r.ape, for example. They could say, "r.ape is the only reason I am alive today. Therefore r.ape is a good thing and we should all do it." Is this reasonable?

I don't think this is going anywhere. I don't remember ever saying -blam!- was ok or anything remotely comparable to that. I also don't remember saying that it was an excuse. I was simply pondering the possibility. You win, k?
