So, information about cut content have been leaked and users on Neogaf have posted this.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=903125
Apperently a persons game glitched and allowed him to see all the content as locked, including the content we're not "allowed" to see yet. Like the DLC missions, Strikes and Raids.
I quote:
The first DLC will include 4-5 missions, 2 strikes(one on earth, one on Mars), 1 raid(on Moon) and 3 crucible maps.
Second DLC there is less details but I assume again 4-5 missions, 2 strikes, and 1 raid(which takes place in the reef)
Where all of this is on disc but have to be unlocked by buying the Season Pass/DLC.
So, there you have your proof. Bungie have cut content from the game and locked it for us to make us buy their Season Pass.
In my opinion that is a very cheap move.
Opinions/Further discussions?
Please bump this thread as much as you can to spread the truth.
Edit:
Further proof that most of the DLC is already on Disc. (From Neogaf)

Edit3:
To the people defending this.
How are you okay with this kind of stuff? Content being on the disc that you bought but can't use because they will sell it to you again in the Expansion Pass.
This content should/already is in the game but is locked.
Edit4:
People saying we're jumping to conclusions, that these areas are not even close to being finished and all that.
Thing is.
Since the areas are already there(some with enemies) they could have easily have included them in the game.
These areas were already in as far back as the alpha. Which means they had plenty of time to actually finish it all. (If they aren't already finished and Bungie are just waiting to release the rest of it to the people with the expansion pass)
These missions and areas should/could have been in the final game but were most likely cut to be sold later as DLC.
The areas already in the game proves this by showing us areas that are locked where they probably later only will unlock the missions for those areas. As stated in Edit1 "Expansion II is only 9.5 MB" which most likely is just a "key" to unlock the on disc "DLC".
Looking at the lack of content Destiny have right now it could have used this content on release instead.
Edit5:
Seeing that this thread now have about 380 replies(and still going) where the majority are either upset or angry at Bungie for doing this thing, maybe Bungie should address this in an official blog post and update us on how it actually is.
Is this DLC content on disc which needs a bought "key" aka expansion pass or will this later be released for free like the Iron banner and Queen's Wrath events?
Bungie, take a look at your fanbase/community, more than half of them are disappointed in the way you're doing business with Destiny.
Edit6:
A reddit post going over everything that changed with Destiny over the last year:

Same post but on Bungie.net:
http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/70822032/0/0
It goes through everything that was in the game before release but later on got taken out for DLC or removed completely.

The Xbox Expansion Pass link is up again:

9.5MB
I have a picture too:

It says 6.9 MB on there. Also a very small download. Most likely a "key".
They promise us "New Story and Cooperative Areas to explore" but we all know those areas aren't actually new lol
Plenty of people have already been in them.
Edit9:
Quote from Neogaf worth reading:

I highly doubt the devs just cut complete shit out to sell later.
And that's probably what they want you to think. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they'd spin. Cutting content out of a game and then randomly blasting it into the market in pieces as DLC is profitable, so they'll do it. It's easy for them.
We have no evidence to suggest they aren't doing this. I'm much more inclined to say this is exactly what they're doing based on what we're seeing.
Thank god I didn't buy into this game. Pulled out last year when i realised what they were saying and what they were showing just didn't match. The $500m gave me a good laugh though. What a waste.
But hats down to Activision, it all worked perfectly. Expect other companies to follow this trend. The future is bright!
wazzanut wrote a reply worth reading:
Its like paying to get into Disneyland and then being told you have to pay extra to ride the best rides. People who dont complain about this place less value in money and self respect. I like the idea of releasing content over time to help keep things fresh but theres hardly a main body to this game, it feels like an empty introduction to an empty world. Its like halo leftovers and its starting to smell funny... Repeating missions over and over should be proof enough to the lack of content, its been a while since i felt a little screwed over by a game.
Edit11:
Another area have been found, now by Nowise10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U
As you can see it is everything is done in this one as well. All Bungie have to do is release the mission files and that's the DLC for ya.
Note that Nowise10 states that this is the 2015 DLC mission.
I mean, a 2015 DLC that already exist in the game. That is pure cheapness.
Edit12:
So, the area Nowise10 found a way into have been in the game for quite some time.
This is a screenshot from a trailer released on E3 this year in June.
http://i.imgur.com/4zFs3HH.png
Would you look at that?
http://youtu.be/hRRKtkuOeig?t=1m32s
So this area have been in there since atleast E3...
Edit13:
Another finished looking DLC area on disc have been found:
http://teambeyond.net/destiny-dlc-area-uncovered-mars/
http://youtu.be/fY_KKYQG22c
Now a strike in the Black Garden area.
As you can see it is a big area where you can't go because of this big energy wall, but with a sparrow you can go through it and enter the DLC area.
Edit14:
Another DLC area found by Corbman.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgoPfuphQvw
This is the Traitor's Ketch mission in the 2015 DLC.
Is you can see, everything is working as it should, it just needs enemies.
Edit15:
Once again, a new DLC area found by Corbman.
http://youtu.be/BtFey3eEzfk
This is the area for the raid on the moon.
Confirming that this also is on disc and only needs enemies to be added.
I know no one cares anymore so I will probably stop updating this now. Since, I don't really care anymore myself.
I've given up on Destiny and will move on to better games.

This doesn't bother me for this game since there is no subscription. I'm loving the game thus far and hope to have the raid done before the first DLC

Edited by killer6000: 9/29/2014 1:56:55 AMI'm not mad I paid 100$ for what I thought was the ps3 and ps4 version of the game but it also came with the pre order bonuses and expansion pass so its basically free content to me. I think everybody needs to stop looking for stuff to Mitch about.
-
I called this weeks ago
-
MFW people are actualy defending this
-
I'm sure they cut some content (didn't need proof as the story is all the proof you need) but they also need to have this stuff in an almost ready to go state in such a complex game. I feel the expansions should have been smaller with more kept in the original release.

When he shows the second summoning pits it's for the exotic bounty Thorn hand cannon
-
Are you -blam!-ing kidding Bungie. Youre really selling us on disk content? For shame
-
whining thats all i can read people when the free content of the game is finished then come and judge it iam enjoying the game and your ruining it for me so keep your whining to your self
-
Guys they didn't cut content from the game, rather they had a plan to make destiny an on going process and they probably have had the next few dlc already made long before the games launch however they are choosing to release it little by little along with the probably completely thought about storyline. I believe they could have released the game with a lot more but are choosing to spoon feed us everything one step at a time. It's easier to make an on going game if you have pretty much made everything before hand. This would also explain why it took so many years and money.
-
Kinda handy to not have to download the files...
-
Proof they have placeholders and coding in place. Not proof content is already there.
-
I thought activision was the publisher....?
-
he should've checked sub classes
-
Even if they gave us all of that at launch, they plan on supporting the game with content for the next several years so you will have to buy DLC anyway. DLC is not new and the from the videos I have seen of this, the content is nowhere near complete.
-
If you look at the situation here, it only reflects what's happening in the world. Something that was created for enjoyment (video games in general) has been exploited and turned into a money hungry machine. It's not just Destiny, or even just video games. Pretty much EVERY industry out there has taken up this thought style but most of us are too occupied complaining about a digital cyber-world to even notice! This whole thing goes beyond Destiny, Bungie or even Activision. The way money is used by the public should be your true concern. Or even the fact that we're all owned by the government or the fact that most people slave their lives away only to pay bills and taxes to make the rich richer. You may think you have it bad because you have to pay an extra 15 dollars for some coding on a disc but just know that someone out there could have used that 15 bucks to buy a meal and stay alive.
-
So they pulled a Capcom on us? My only solace is that if it's true, it's likely a decision on Activision's part and not Bungie's - Bungie never has and never would screw us deliberately like this. Activision on the other hand has, would, and will again. IIRC didn't EA make them an offer as well? Not that they're a whole lot better, but EA has been cleaning up their act at least somewhat lately (though then we'd have microtransactions forced on us so eww....) So I guess in the end I blame Microsoft lol? They could have done more for Bungie, but didn't. They're also the reason Halo 2 ended up the way it did (MS had Bungie on a very brutal schedule that they were not happy about)
-
It isn't cut he added his expansion pass therefore it would the levels he can but they are blocked until December.I know this because one level said house of wolves that is the name of the expansion coming out in december
-
This isn't anything new and was obvious from beta
-
The download for the DLC pass is 9.5Mb. As this seems to need clearing up for some people: that's the bit of code that tells the game you have purchased the DLC content and to let you know in-game when it's available. It is not the DLC content itself.
-
well shit, you want everything to be free right there in your hand, they need to gain money for ten years no one day.
-
Lololololol this game is a MMO RPG in most good long lasting MMO RPGs the dont give all the content at once they most likely will always have expansions and DLC just to keep players who know how MMOs work entertained no quit your complaining and go back to playing halo.
-
Bungie are under contract to make the franchise for 10 years....they really have no choice what activision decides to do with dlc launch times.
-
lol expansion page has gone!!
-
So does this just prove that the dlc was "made" at the same time as the rest of the main game? Not sure why it is a big deal. I would imagine that the DLC of most games is made at the same time as the rest of the game?
-
Question is , how much of it is going to be paid DLC and how much of it is going to be timed release FREE content? (yes im aware Activision......theyre still not as bad as EA though , but still up there)
