Forget Halo, the Marathon games were some of the first FPS games to actually have a meaningful story beyond "Shoot [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url]'s" or "Shoot Demons". Durandal is one of my favority characters of any game I've ever played.
