I've played about 70 hours and haven't even done the raid yet. I just tried Crucible for the first time yesterday and it's fun as hell (needs a little work on balancing *cough* OP hunters :P *cough*). I'm not bored of the game yet. I have no gripes about the amount of content we received, I basically paid $1/hour so far and that is completely reasonable to me (and will even get more reasonable as I log more hours, which I will be). The DLC will be awesome and I'm glad it's already on the disc so I don't have to come home from work and wait 3 hours for it to download - instead I can jump right into the game and play. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! Also, to those who have issues with the DLC price...it's $35 for two DLC packs with a ton of content in each. How is that expensive? That sounds reasonable as hell to me. Some of you need to quit your bitching lol. Don't get me wrong I still have my issues with game, but it's new and that is expected. At least the dev team is listening to our feed back. At the beginning of my post I mentioned I hadn't done the raid yet - this is mostly due to there being no match making system. I have a group for 4 friends (including myself) so we just don't quite have the right amount for the raid. A bit frustrating. Matchmaking for the dailies, weeklies and nightfall strikes (and timed events like queen's) would make a world of difference. I laugh at all the people who say there isn't enough content and that they're bored. You will be the people playing wow, farming the same heroics over and over, playing the same BGs that have been around for 10 years and capped in points in PvP and PvE on the Thursday after reset, standing in Orgrimmar dancing, but you won't be complaining then. This is how these games work. Be happy Bungie is bringing out new content so soon. PS. Bungie isn't making people pay monthly like Wow. Since they're not charging us monthly it makes sense they need to make some cash off DLC, how else would they be able to pay their employees to keep adding content for us... This game rocks. Thanks Bungie.

 • LOL at OP hunters. I switched back to Gunslinger because I am tired of getting Titan smashed or void bombed when I use my Arc Blade with my Bladedancer. Hunters are not OP. Just play or class correctly.

If your the latter please stop encouraging this kind of business practice, its not in anybodies interest but Activision/Bungies. If you're of the former group then I suggest you look at the information that is available and re-evaluate your decision to support this behavior.

 • There is enough content on the disc available to us NOW to justify $60. You and me both have played 70+ hours. IF the content is on the disc that was their choice and there is prob a good reason for it (i.e. no huge downloads at the time of release to bog down their servers for a day and have people whine on the forums about how Bungie sucks becauaw their servers are down), but either way you slice it, you have got your money's worth from this game to this point. You have no reason to complain.

 • I agree with Ridiculous on this, nicely said. There is plenty of content in the game to get more than $60 of game time in. We are all getting our money worth. I am willing to bet a lot of the people complaining about the lack of content are the people who spend endless hours playing this game only putting the controller down to grab more cheese puffs and to take a dump. No matter how much content there is you will inevitably run out when logging so many hours. Scaleoj1 How can you say "$35 are very much money?" The majority of us on here have bills, families, obligations that we have to pay for but 20-35 bucks is not hard to save for some DLC.... If 20 - 35 is too much for anyone to pay for DLC that means they probably shouldn't own a game console to begin with. Video games is a hobby, not a necessity so if your situation is that dire then do what you need to do and sacrifice some non necessities. I'm tired of you peasants complaining you can't afford DLC. As far as Bungie/Activision being greedy.... Why would any business work for free? You expect developers at Bungie to do you all these favors and add content to the game for nothing? This is the real world people, you have to pay to play. While we are talking about greed, lets consider the community for a second. Perhaps it is the community that is greedy.... Bungie gave you a game with plenty of value for 60 dollars but that is not enough, everyone wants MORE!! It is typical human nature to never be satisfied with what's in front of us, we are always looking to obtain more and more. Ultimately we humans will never be fully satisfied... WIENER DRIZZLE Please do not open your mouth/communicate anymore. Most of us don't need to hear/see your unintelligent nonsense that you let pour out of that empty skull. Thanks

 • Well. They could give it for free. Lots of games offer free updates. But taking a system where new access or characters need to be bought by ingame currency. Best example LoL. Free, no monthly sub, all you can do is microtransactions.

 • Yea, I just don't understand why everyone feels so entitled to 100+ hours of gameplay for their $60. This game has great value - most of the profiles I have viewed of people complaining on here have pretty damn close to 100 hours played, so how are you upset? You got your money's worth (and then some, I would argue). It's obvious that some of you actually LOVE the game and are upset that you have nothing left to do. Well support the game instead of trashing on it and Bungie will give you more to do for years to come. The game is evolving and not everything is perfect right out of the gate. Bungie will listen to our feedback and the game will evolve for the better over time. You have to be willing to get off your wallet though, nothing in this world is free.

 • This isn't about being entitled or not wanting to support the game any further, this is about not defending heinous business practices that aren't done in the consumers best interest. The reason people are infuriated by the fact that you and many others are defending this shit is because you only exacerbate the problem by saying they're justified in doing what they're doing, because they simply aren't. You wouldn't be able to get away with this kind of shit in nearly any other market, why the hell should it be acceptable here?

 • You are wrong. Entitlement is EXACTLY what this is about. Look at your profile, you have a 27 lock and a 28 hunter, and you're telling me you haven't played this game for $60 worth? Bullshit. You are a perfect example of entitlement. What is wrong about giving people 60+ hours of gameplay for $60? Please explain that to me, because until you do I'm going to assume you're just an entitled little brat like the rest of the people crying on these forums. How many hours of gameplay is good enough for you?

 •
What is wrong about giving people 60+ hours of gameplay for $60?
The wrong thing is, it is from minute 1 always the same. Bring the ghost to place A, defend him 3 waves, go to Place B and kill a boss. One big mistake in the whole discussion is, that poeple set Gametime and Content as equal. This ISN'T true. I can play a Shooter for 8 hours or for 500 hours. But the content is the same. In my example I have an 29 hunter and an 5 Titan (not noteworthy) I finished the Raid with some friends and did my dailies every day. So I reached 29 finally But this wasn't nice at all. The most time it was just grindy as -blam!-. Playing the same repetetive content again and again and again. And just in case you didn't know this, the whole trade press and every reviewer I knowso far had the same opinion. It isn't as much content as is should be for 60$ Just sayin sincerly ScaleoJ

 • You still played the game for about 100 hours, how did you not get your money's worth? Please explain this. Yea you had to repeat a lot of shit, but you clearly wanted to and enjoyed doing it or you wouldn't have. Not sure how this is so hard to understand. You played the game enough to justify spending $60. Please list other things in life that you can do for as many hours as you have played this game for only $60; there isn't many, so stop complaining. The gameplay is so damn good in this game I really don't mind repeating things, especially since I know new stuff is coming. By the time I get bored the money spent will be well worth it, hell, it already is with the 70 hours I've played.

I did, and it was the first time in this game, i really enjoyed it. Don't -blam!-ing act like you know poeple. You don't! • Every game which gives you the option to get loot requires luck and having to do shit over and over. WoW you farm dungeons and quests that give you rep or some sort of currency, then Heroics (the same dungeons just harder!), then raids and hope the boss drops what you want and then that you have a good enough roll to win it (or enough DKP or w/e) or you pvp the same BGs until your eyes bleed. You wait for the weekly reset and you do it all over again. D3 you grind rifts eternally and hope you get lucky legendary drops and stat rolls. Most other MMOs are the same as this. Destiny isn't an MMO, but how come having to do MMOish grinds to get gear (while factoring in randomness of drops) is unacceptable? I honestly don't think you know what you're arguing anymore.

 • You said it yourself. Destiny is no MMO. But it has the same problems like one. And its the same thing again. Content isn't doing the same shit again and again. Thats grinding. Destiny comes with grinding mechanics of an MMO and hasn't nearly as much CONTENT (different things you can do) I played MMO's long enough and all good had MANY possible and fun options and not just 1 or 2 (although 1 is not really playable) And now forever, No argue with you. You just don't know where to stop and try to provoke with such cheesy comments like
I honestly don't think you know what you're arguing anymore.
sincerly ScaleoJ

 • The new content you will be paying for will be on the same planets/moon meaning the maps, monsters, door opening will be the same. The monsters will have a little more health. The campaign in this game is 20hrs for a casual (super casual). I beat the campaign in 15hrs or less. the campaign was literally the same thing over and over. Not only that. But they set you up to spend more money to finish the campaign. The pvp is terrible. The connection between the servers and players are pretty bad. Exotics and legendaries aare op. Each class super and grenade is op in its own way. The bounties and dailies pretty much make you play the same missions over and over. This game should have had more content at release.

 • Ok I facepalmed a lot as I read your comment. Why? I explain you why. 1.) You're ok with fooling you. They sold you a product and you're happy to buy it over and over and over again. It's like you go to a fuel station, pay and fill the fuel into a gascan. Then you want to fill this fuel into your car and the owner of thefuel station say's "No, you have to pay for this again" That's stupid and show the greedy nature of the seller (doesn't have to be bungie, my thoughts go along Activision) 2.) The DLC price 2 DLC's for $35 sounds good right? No! The leakes show you how much content they give (in missionnumbers) and somethign like this isn't 35 bucks worth! I'am a student. 35$ are very much money for me. I have to think about, what I buy and what I don't. 3.)The overall Content You say this is so much. Every goddamned CoD campaign has more story and innovation. Every mission is always the same. Bring Dinkelbot to place A. Kill 3 Waves of incoming Waves. Run to Place B. Defeat a "Boss" which is just a bigger version of normal monsters. Wait the timer for ending the mission. And the worst of all, it applied to nearly all strike missions in the game. About the PVP i don't wanna begin to talk. I played it several hours and raged the shit out of me. I gave myself a restriction to not enter this part of the game anymore. sincerly ScaleoJ

 • You should probably just not even buy the game of 35$ is a lot to you. I'm a full time college student and work part time and live on my own and that isn't much for the amount of content that will be dropped with the dlc.

The only reason WOW still has a subscription fee is because Blizzard knows people are overly invested in the game and will continue to pay even if their game is quickly becoming dated, they simply can't let all their hours poured into the game be for nothing. Destiny isn't a single person game either where you beat the 15 hour story and never play it again. It's somewhere in the middle, maybe even a new genre, why can't you be happy you have been able to play a game as much as you have (look at your profile) for only $60? I am very happy with a game that has allowed me to play about 70 hours so far and am still not be bored despite it not being an MMO. Also, the MMOs you listed may not be pay to play, but you cant say those games are doing or have done as well as a game like WoW or games where you pay for fresh content - those payments pay for the development and evolution of the game.
3. People stop playing wow when the content gets old. I don't come back to wow because I have invested too much time into it, I come back every xpac to see the new changes and play the game until I get bored again, which is usually when life gets too busy or after the last raid is released and has been out for a while (I'm a filthy casual as someone before you pointed out). Then I unsubscribe and repeat.
4. Nobody is questioning the stability of your income or whether or not you can or can't afford to pay for this on-disc "DLC". Ill say this again, looking at your profile, you have EASILY got your $60 worth from this game (and then some), so so what of the entire DLC IS on the disc? You have got what you paid for because they put enough content in the game for people like you and me to play this game for 60+ hours. This all comes back to entitlement. How many hours of pre DLC content should you be entitled to? If you think it's more than how much you have played, then there's your issue.

They even release new content (Story and Gamefeatures) every 14 days. Thats really huge. Especially if you think about that this missions has boss encounters and Cutscenes. To point 2, you cannot know about this, i posted it in another thread. I will give these 2 expansions a chance (I have to, bought the limited and redeemed all codes) But as the Threadstarter already wrote, the size is just a couple of MB. But most of them don't let me rage like Destiny. There are so many aspects of things that are unsatisfying. Just to name a few: -No options to customize and create private game lobbies -No option to customize the matchmaking itself (a standart since Halo 2 or 3) -Matchmaking itself (If I play alone I just get stomped from 3 guy parties on Skirmish and Salavage. Often i just play 2v3 because one leaves after 5 deaths in a row) -Forced upgrades on Weapons (Sometimes Upgrades give 3 positives and 1 negative but this negative weights higher) -Bad netcode (Sometimes Player kill me around a corner or we both die but he dies 3 seconds later cause of delay) I hope I could clearify my point of view sincerly ScaleoJ

But honestly, any multiplayer game is going to have negatives. Us paying for DLC allows the devs to not only listen to our concerns, but address them. If the devs arent getting paid, changes arent being made. If Bungie doesn't have some way of generating income after the initial game sales, they cant pay their devs. Because of this i will gladly pay for DLC. As long as Bungie listens to our complaints and addresses them Im a happy gamer. If some DLCs or patches come abd there still isnt match making for PvE and PvP, or still isn't some other needed changes that people talk about constantly then get mad, but until then enjoy what we have and look forward to improvements and the evolution of the game.

Servers getting closed and reorganised so you have some full worlds WoW is hardly the last "succesful" game with this system of payment. Gw2 has ~7 million active Accounts. WoW had in Q2 2014 nearly the same. WoW had in his best times 14 millions if i can remember this right (was showed at some Trailers with Chuck Norris and Mr. T) This is an loss of almost 50%! So I think we can compare both games in terms of playernumbers. What makes GW2 so outstanding is, that you buy the game for around 50 bucks and then you haven't to pay anything. You have an Ingameshop which requires a currency, which is easily achieved by Ingame Gold. All things you can buy there are different from the Stuff you can get ingame, so everyone sees, you bought it (so it is no offense against guys, who grinded there gear hardly) and this things give no gamebreaking advantages. The only things are XP Booster and endless ressourcetools like pickaxes. Why bungie did not go for this train? You, as a customer, can actually control your costs easily. As a developer, it isn't hard to create content. Gw2 showes, that this model has a future. In terms of balancing. I think it is absurd to say, you have to pay DLC so they can make the Matchmaking, or better the whole PVP enjoyable. Every other Game has updates in Balance too and they didn't needed money for DLC. There are enough fair and square models for funding big team. Every single one of us pay not just the game and its DLC. You need an XBOX Live Gold or PS Plus membership. If you want so, you pay monthly to use certain features. Ok this fees don't go to Bungie, but this is one of the reasons, it would be outrageous if they want a monthly fee. But to come back to the begin. This complete discussion goes with the claim, this content is already on the disk. If it isn't I'am totaly fine with it. If it is, much more folks will be really pissed. And thats the last thing you want as a developer. have a pissed community. These guys, don't buy anything you give them. Thats the thing I do not understand why Bungie isn't talking in some way's with us. Why there is no official statement? Why they give the press her copies so late? They feared the response. They know they did bullshit at some certain points and don't want to lost there Pre-Order numbers. They fear the contact with us players and thats never a good sign And in terms of storytelling. GW2 had an completed Story with choices, emotional moments and an dramaturgic approach with an start, and middle part and an big final. Destiny has just a start and then it ends. For the DLC size argument. I never saw a change at an downloadcontent in terms of his size. It is very likely that this is the real size for the download But as you said, no proof just speculation. sincerly ScaleoJ
