This is what the game industry has become, and we have no right to complain about it because we all contributed to this. anytime we bought a dlc for a few maps in call of duty, any time we paid for micro transactions, anytime we sat there as watched other do it and said nothing about it. its gave every publisher the green light to make even more money. do i blame them? a little bit, but most of my blame falls on all of us as gamers for letting this get so bad in the first place. how can I blame of company for making money in a practice we have already deemed to be alright?
Mostly agree. In business, actions always speaks louder than words. Most of these kids don't understand economics and product development... If they did, then the video game industry would probably support different business models that would appeal to the market, because we would have voted by not buying DLCs in the past.
To be honest, I don't actually have a problem with DLC content in general. Sure, Destiny's specific case sounds fishy and it seems like Bungie/Activison are being greedy, but it's still conjecture at this point.
The part I don't agree with is people's right to complain. If we lived in a world where customers were not allowed complain about the quality of a product, then products would never improve. While I still think actions are louder than words, complaints don't go unnoticed by companies. However, if your motive is vindictive in nature, then your best tool is to 1) get off this forum, 2) sell your game/uninstall it, and 3) tell your friends how disappointed you are with Destiny. That affects future sales, which is what keeps the suits up at night.
