Any developer that plans on releasing more content?
Same as an author who writes a book and plans a sequel. Do people complain that he sold an unfinished product because he knew he would write more later?
Sadly, lately, yes, they do.
I'm getting seriously f**king tired of seeing this garbage defense of bullsh*t business practice. It actually makes me angry to see people say such stupid sh*t.
Just because you plan on supporting the game post-release doesn't mean you cut out half the game and repackage it as new content with a DLC label. Speaking as a writer myself, no competent author writes a book and plans a sequel beforehand. No person or entity who plans on mako more than one of something makes all of it at once, then divides it up into pieces to sell individually at full price. You are legitimately retarded and should be ashamed of even insinuating something so anti-consumer.
This next part is aimed squarely at Bungie: why do you not see that this is a bad idea? People give Bioware and Epic a ton of flak for cutting things out of games and selling them later, stop following in their footsteps. I mean, if your whole endgame was to alienate a whole legion of people who were once fans of your work and motivating to stop buying from you because they're sick of this anti-consumer and borderline abusive practice, then by all means, you're on the f**king ball. If you actually planned on staying in the good graces of the customer, you done f**ked it up.
A lot of writers plan sequels ahead. Hell some work on the sequels before the first novels.
