I was going to respond to this earlier but I overlooked what most of the op was saying because it's all "should this, should that" it wasn't until I read few comments and reread the OPs post where I actually got it. I'd like to think that what people are seeing is an open door that someone forgot to close. There's a few areas I'm aware of for expanded/DLC content (The Grottos/Earth) but the fact that they're already there save me (and a bunch of other people) a butt load of time to download a few megabytes of data opposed to a whole chunk of map and everything. And I'm perfectly fine with it, some may not be but I'm honestly happy with it. Imo, I just think it was an oopsie someone forgot to shut after the recent hotfixes. But that's just my speculation. Edit: I'm fully aware that Bungie has said Destiny is not an MMO. You, the kid down the street, and everyone's second cousin twice removed has plastered it in every forum. But I'm fairly sure I said it was "practically a mock mmo". I'm aware that it's not, but it borders it.
