That's where we are nemesis lol
Though I've bought/played every Halo since the 2nd one, I have yet to truly enjoy any of the Halo games.
Reach was the closest I've come to getting into Halo, and IMO is the best one out of the series.

Endlessly recycled content, flat dialog, bad writing, a lack of plot, pretense substituting for content, shoehorned MMO grinds, a static sandbox, its all there. Now that's not to question you [i]liking it[/i] more than any other in the series, but as a functional entity its the [b]most [/b]questionable (which brings up the question of what you're not finding in the more competent Halos).
