Last night, another guardian posted something that peaked my interest. He thought it would be interesting to have large scale PVP matches on the patrol maps. This got things turning in my head. I came up with a game type, and to my surprise, many people liked it. I'll post it here to see what everyone else thinks.
I have a good idea for a pvp game type for patrol maps. (And this may already be a game type in some other game. If so, I'm apologize. Lol). Have an even number of teams of six (or larger) spawn in, or one team in each area of the patrol map. Each team has a flag in a central location of their area. The object of the game is to have one area capture all the flags on the map.
Let's say that each team has a different color flag. Those colors, for arguments sake, would be red, black, blue, green, white, and yellow. Now, here's the catch: if red team captures yellow teams flag, all of the yellow team would become part of red team, thus doubling the size of red team. If black team captures blue team, it's size would also double. This would go on and on until there are only two teams left.
This could be even, with each team consisting of three teams, or it could be lopsided, with one team consisting of five teams (30+ people), and the other team (6+ people). Once all flags have been captured, the game ends. There is no time limit. If people have time to play the raid, they can play this game type.
Also, let's say that red team is the winner. The original red team (6+ players) would be considered the winners, or they placed first, thus earning them greater rewards. Everyone else's rewards would consist of how well they did in the game with numerous variables in play. How long did this player survive in one life, sprees, captures, assists, ect. What do you guys think? I call this game type Armageddon. Thanks for reading.
