Free DLC/patch to fix story petition
Sorry but I can see this as the only way for Bungie to save this game. We have all paid for what most have come to think of as a Beta of what we thought and were promised. We are then meant to sit around and wait for a Dlc which cost about he same as the game itself. That's meant to make people happy? Now I don't care if you are a Ps fan boy or and Xbox gamer (joke), none of us deserve to have to fork out more money for a full game. So due to this I think we should get a free DLC from Bungie with an apology for selling us a Beta not the full game. This free DLC/patch should redo the story, making it worthy of the people that brought us Halo. Proper cut scenes that tell a true story, maybe even a twist in there. The Awoken queen recognising your race and responding to you appropriately, not just calling you "it". None of that "I'll explain later" rubbish, a real story that gets to your soul. Bungie owe it to themselves to grip us with a real first episode, to a game that is meant to be around for 10 years.
If you agree please comment so Bungie/Activison [u]might[/u] take notice.

The story that was cut and we all saw was in the game before the cuts. That can only come as a free DLC or patch, if that's a better word for people. I do have theory why the story is so bad and nondescript. My theory is that it was written by deej. You know the guy that gives nondescript answers to every question? That's all I can think of as to why the story is so bad, it's deej's fault. As it can't be Bungie can it? They brought us the original Halo and the emotional Halo Reach, remember the end of that? Truly an amazing ending, Bungie did that. They couldn't of written this Destiny tripe. Seriously watch this....

I personally love the part where he talks about Destiny not being a MMO, it's more of story driven.

8 RepliesOk so I'm gonna get up on my soap box for a moment. First: I like the game I like the story. It was clear cut and introduced the main story elements while also leaving some stuff open for later but it came to a good resolution that left it open for more similar to the ending of Halo: Combat Evolved. As for the aforementioned "stuff open for later" that's what it is. If Bungie fleshed out every bit of every character every enemy all the past in this game there would be nothing left to go on. Any sequels or DLC would be rehashing all the stuff we knew. Second: I am quite frankly over the "this should be free" "no we should have to pay" argument. I don't expect Bungie or any company for that matter to give away their hard work for free, and there is hard work in Destiny just look at the terrain and landscapes. Also paid DLC is the way of gaming now and do you know who's fault it is? Is it Bungie's? Activision? Microsoft? Sony? Bethesda? Bioware? No! It's yours, it's mine, it's that ten year old playing games he should be, and anyone who has ever paid for an expansion to a game. It happened the moment a company went "hey lets try this" and someone opened their wallet. So don't complain about DLC because we all caused it. Finally for those saying "their trying to squeeze all our money" and "they should give story add ons for free" well they just might. They have 2 announced DLCs and Bungie has said they have many new things ahead and the game hasn't even been out a month isn't it a bit to early to say they won't release free story content? That is it I am done. Remove my soap box.

It's my understanding that, as with any MMO, the developers would slowly add in content in the form of frequent patches and every so often add in new races/classes, maps, and other huge updates via expansions which shouldn't cost the same amount as the game (in my opinion it should be about $30). Is that not what Bungie is planning to do? I do know one thing for sure, they better have a long term thing planned because MMOs are not short term (aka lifespan of less than a year)... I'll be heart broken if I put in a crapload of hours for months and then it's over after the 2 expansions come out... Anyway, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed in the awkward story telling or in some cases the lack of story telling. But overall, I'm alright with things so far.

3 RepliesI do love this game, i do. But i also agree with you that it falls short.. I think that the game need more story missions and raids to be added during patches/updates. What i was expecting from the expansions was more levels and new planets and maybe even new galaxies.. Not new missions and strikes on the small so called planets we already have... That should been included in the free patches that we get now and then. I think world of Warcraft is the perfect exampel of how the game should be when it comes to free adds and what to be expecting from patches and expansions like hole new areas and more lvls.. Bungie, plz add more raids and stuff in the upcoming patches and expand the galaxies in the expansions.. With all that sad.. You got me signed up! PS. I do think bungie have Done a wonderful game. I just hope it will grow much much more over time, but by the looks of it right now it will not.

Seriously how do you know what if any story was cut and if you were expecting something thats all on you for thinking it was supposed to be a certain way. Dont get me wrong the story was lack luster but really a game like this is meant to be a grind and more grind.

2 RepliesThe only halfway decent compromise I can think of would be to release the entire story as was originally envisioned and rework the paid dlc to continue that story so the people that pre-paid don't get screwed. Couldn't be any worse than this half-assed garbage we wasted 60+ dollars for, right? Pipe dream, I know, it would be my preffered outcome to the mess the game is in now.
