My Open Letter to Bungie. I Think I'm Done with Destiny

I have a love hate relationship with this game, as do many of us, but I think I'm finally done with this game. Just hear me out and let me explain. This will be lengthy and I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining too much. Thanks for your time. We all know the loot system in this game was pretty broken, so they tried to fix it. Cool.. Kinda worked, but I have been shafted so many times since launch, I still hate the cryptarch lol. But all jokes aside, this is what this game is supposed to be about! LOOT! Well... It just doesn't fascinate me anymore like other games have done. There just isn't much variety. And with only about six exotics for warlocks and only a few being useful, I don't really want to grind to get a random exotic I wind up not wanting. I don't want the exotic helm I have now, but I NEED it just to level up. It's butt ugly! It's also my only option as of now... Bounties are just plain annoying now. We are all used to doing the same missions and strikes over and over, but yesterday as I visited the world of Destiny again to complete bounties, I realized I was just annoyed that I couldn't finish things faster. I also hate to sound spoiled, but I have gotten the same exotic weapon bounties three times over. I have Thorn and Invective and have no desire for Bad JuJu, but I didn't have much choice there, did I Bungie? Queen's wrath is completely pointless since the removal of ascendants from the gear. I have accumulated 9 possible QW missions to do since I gave up on them. What's the point? I already have that stuff and legendary gear! QW has just been a waste of my time. I understand it is a way to give those without legendary gear a chance to get some, but what about is dedicated players that just want the shards!? We earned out legendary gear long ago (or got lucky lol) and want a reason to be a part of this "limited time event." It became a waste of time since she's leaving soon and only has rare weapons for sale. Vault of Glass is the only thing I have left to do, yet it's nigh impossible for me to get six buddies on at the same time with several hours to spare. It has only happened once. Tried it with three people and it was impossible (for us, and yes I realize some people can do it, but my friends are not as skilled as me so levels are equal but that's about it). Crucible is crazy fun for me. I'm good at it so I don't have many gripes. Lots of one hit kills in a game about skill shots and shot placement. Shotguns, which are always some of my favorites, but I knew they were slightly OP and would receive a nerf in the near future. OHK melee, super moves, blade dancer lasting about twenty seconds for mass murder Jack the Ripper style, rockets, etc. I chalked it up to game design and I was fine with it. As long as I had fun and did well, I had no problem... Except... Why was I not rewarded for going 30+ with 10 or less deaths in most games, but a noob that goes 4 and 17 gets an exotic hand cannon I will never get? This is short. 19000 different currencies to get things. It's like we live in a condensed Europe/Asia in one city where your money is no good half the time. A small annoyance, but yet another one. I'm unlucky and don't get many good weapon or armor drops. Seeing these cool exotic armor pieces or certain guns I want seem impossible. I can't tell the game what I want so it'll make it a wee bit easy for me to get what I want and apparently prayer has no effect on RNG so that's out. I have gotten good things but not many, or I got things I didn't really want. I played this game the way bungie wanted us to. If I shot the loot cave in my life I may have felt differently but I find that boring. Playing this game the way they wanted doesn't give you much good stuff tbh. Farming tends to work better. Finally... Xur... I SURELY thought Xur would be the saving grace. What better thing to fix the loot problem than to have a VENDOR!!? I could work my butt off for the 55 different currencies he needs to just buy the cool stuff right? Wrong. I main a warlock. I never had interest in sunbreakers because I absolutely love the void walker and I have always been a damage dealer in any game I play. My rewards for xur? Sunbreakers... Three times. I'm sure other warlocks who bought them feel shafted too. We get it glowing fingers... Now everyone has glowing fingers. Not so rare anymore. Not so appealing either. Xur has been here four times. Warlocks got the same stuff three times while hunters and titans get sweet gear. I said I would save stuff for my hunter, but frankly, I don't want to use him anymore because it will be like playing this all over again. Ok what about the weapons Xur sells? The exotic helm engram?? Got screwed with Titan or Hunter gear every time I got one so I don't even trust it any more because it's kind of hard to rack up all those motes of light (currency 800 out of 17000) per week for something new every time. I bought Gjallarhorn the first time, but what's different that a rocket from it won't do that a legendary won't? The cluster missle looks cool, but an exotic heavy weapon is pointless. Other tier weapons for exotics are more useful. Suros Regime I had no interest in. Not much of an AR guy. Got hard light in an engram so I've used it for variety sake but it's still boring for me to hold the trigger down to get kills, plus hard light has recoil the Suros dreams about after a seizure. Red death this week? Nah. Don't care for pulse rifles. Basically I'm a hand cannon guy. Put in all the work for Thorn when it was available. Yeah it's cool but a bit underwhelming to something like the last word or any legendary hand cannon with more ammo. ESPECIALLY considering the time it takes to get it. This was a flagship weapon! It's picture was everywhere telling us This is exotic loot. This is what you can look forward to in Destiny to be a badass!. Well it's cool, but it wasn't THAT cool. Poison DoT is a cool touch, but others with less recoil and a higher ROF with other hand cannons, a third shot in Crucible is just easier to do than to wait for poison to take effect and kill the enemy off (and more satisfying to me) because someone won't steal my kill as the victim runs away. I played Destiny from launch. I couldn't do everything (VoG due to the requirements ) but I did ALMOST everything. I enjoyed my time, but this game only lasted me a month. With so many games incoming this fall and Battlefield 4 having that massive patch to make it a bit more playable, I don't really see any reason for me to pick this up anymore. Bungie. I'm sorry, but this did not turn out to be the game you wanted me to like. I listened to your "after level 20" "after 20 hours" "grind for loot" press releases. I did what you asked good players to do. I just find it boring now and I've been stuck on level 27 for so long I don't care to find shards or spin metal or blooms and more. Once I get my sweet gear, all I can do is shoot the same stuff until December when the dlc drops. By then I'll have way more games to play. Thanks for being the only game worth a crap during this dead period, but all those years of development time can produce a vast skyrim or mass effect or even Diablo sized world or loot selection. So with that lengthy post, I bid the world of Destiny adieu. I have seen basically everything there is to offer. Thanks for the time, but I think it's time we parted ways. Good day Bungie.
