"Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in Crucible. Death will slow your progress"
Does anyone have any tips for doing this step in Thorn quest line? I just find it ridiculous how hard it is to do this when everyone is comfortable running around in their primaries while I'm forced to use crappy Void Fusion Rifle, or Heavy weapon which I never have ammo for. And I also want to mention that I'm not good at multiplayer so yeah...
How are people completing this quest? Or should I just abandon since I'm reading that Thorn is not very good anyways...

Of you have word of Crota/ Atheon's epilogue it helps amazingly as well as a void subclass, Crota's shotgun and the corrective measure are useful as well

Dude go into crucible and just be slow and methodically cautious in your approach. If you are a maniac then it will never happen

1 ReplyIt's way easier if you get raid weapons like atheons epilogue or word of Crota, they cause void damage as primaries

I used a food fusion rifle and I finished in about 5 games

I did this as a defender Titan. I just ran around in rumble with a void shotgun, make sure to aim down the sights if you use a shorty, it helps the accuracy it seems.

Go into rumble as a FT and have your friend just die to you.

I beat that in a day and a half with praedyths revenge. Just don't be reckless and go right at people be careful and do whatever it takes not to die.

If you're a warlock run voidwalker if titan defender. Use Atheon's epilogue if you have void fusion rifle/ praesyth's revenge(if you use snipers) Corrective measure if you have otherwise a void mg but if you have truth with tracking and proximity that will work wonders.

Create fire team. Go to crucible. Have friends sacrifice themselves to you. Take turns with other people who have the bounty

Thorn is amazing js and u will eventually get it if u just keep it up I remember when I did it (a long ass time ago) it took me about 2 hours of straight crucible because I had to run around with a shotgun which was frustrating but it was my first exotic so I was determined to get it

I used a void shotgun and played rumble

Need void primary. I wasn't going anywhere till I got Atheons epilogue. Add to plug 1, and a void heavy and you have void no matter what. Finished it within 20 games

Thorn is great and my advice is to get your hands on Atheon's epilogue from VOG, a void auto rifle

I did it with a void rare sniper rifle. In know your pain.

I've wanted to do the Thorn bounty and obtain the gun for a really long time now but the pvp part has always been a burden for me. I'm god awful in Crucible, have never really played it before, but last night I finally got the bounty for my warlock and just decided to give it a go. I equipped Voidfang Vestments and used axion bolt grenades and made my nova bomb to split in three and made all my ability kills to make things explode. Weapon-wise I used Word of Crota in primary slot, a random void fusion/Swordbreaker/Praedyth's Revenge in special and Truth/Corrective Measure in heavy depending on the map. Went there by myself and it took me just a little over 2 hours, about 10 matches in control. Just played it safe, hanged back but didn't camp, eyes always on the radar. After a slow start got to the first 100 points and thought maybe I can finally do this and finished it in one sitting. To top it all, it was fun as hell believe it or not. Most of my kills came from Truth, grenades and nova bombs. As my last kill I managed to clear a flag with all the 6 players of opposing team with my super and seeing the bounty phase complete after that made my night. Another happy accident was throwing an axion bolt to a flag and killing one of every class on it and getting the Triple Play -trophy. Just try it out, it might take a while to get used to things. Let your team mates be in front lines and check your surroundings. I honestly thought I could never get this done on my own. And if I could pull it off, so can anyone. Later my friend joined for the Xyor part and now I finally have the awesome Thorn in my hands. Hope this helps. Go for it and have fun, it's still a video game, and a pretty damn good one too for sure!

If you are hunter use a void shotgun and use stalker, escape artist, and shadowjack worked really well for me and xyor is pretty easy

Praedyth's Revenge and a void machine gun. Try and hit Shores of Time and the Mars map with the building as much as posdible. Snipe, camp heavy, and prosper. Check my stats. I am horrible at PVP and I got it, you can too.
