If by epic you mean an extremely barren of content grindfest with a nonexistent story and lame level design then you're correct.
There is a reason Destiny gets 6/10 scores from so many reviewers. Other games in its genre (RPG/MMO) overshadow it massively. It's like an ant compared to the sun. Heck, even standard RPG/MMO games overshadow it. They don't even have to be particularly good.
