Yesterday, I dismantled two fully-leveled legendary weapons: The Grim Citizen III and The Swarm. I made it a point to note how many Ascendant Energies each weapon yielded.
The Grim Citizen III had the 3rd damage upgrade, which required 6 Ascendant Energies. After dismantling it, I received 6 Ascendant Energies.
The Swarm only had up to the 2nd damage upgrade, which required no Ascendant Energies. After dismantling it, I received 5 Ascendant Energies.
I thought you normally just get 2-3 Ascendant Materials per legendary!?!? (Not complaining, just baffled)
Questions:
1. Does leveling up your weapons/gear affect the number of Ascendant materials that you get when you dismantle the weapon/gear?
2. Does upgrading your weapons/gear affect the number of Ascendant materials that you receive when you dismantle the weapon/gear?
3. Is it truly random? Do I have to pray to RNGesus each time?
4. What is the usual or maximum yield per weapon? Per Armor?
I'm planning to do more testing within the next days, and I'll record the dismantling each time to be more scientific. In the meantime, can anyone please confirm/debunk if this is a myth or share a similar experience?
Thanks in advance!

From my experience with dismantling green and rare weapons and armor. The exp is the only thing that matter the upgrades don't. Plus there seems to be a range like with green full maxed on exp I get between 3 and 5 weapon parts. But I seem to hit 4 on average. So I was wondering if legendary did the same with the ascendant material. It might plan on trying when I get alot of marks.
