The Titan Defender is invaluable in boss fights.
My friends all run either hunters or warlocks, but when we're getting our butts kicked and I pop my super - it's everyone in the bubble. You'd think I was making S'Mores in there.
(Since my bubble gives everyone that passes through a temp shield, they tend to duck in and out to recharge, even.)

I do the same thing, but when you have have multiple Defenders in your fireteam, you sort of need something else.

True, but I think the answer isn't to change the classes - it's to have a more optimal mix in the fireteam. A few of our group rerolled when they realized Titans were kind of on the squishy side.
