Radiant Light should Last X Amount of Time, Not Be Lost with Weekly Reset

Radiant Light currently confers its bonus effect at the completion of an often grueling Nightfall Mission. That effect lasts until the Weekly Reset when the next set of Weekly Missions is put into play. I think the effect should last a fixed amount of time so that everyone can enjoy the same period of the effect regardless of when they complete the Nightfall mission. Seriously, it should be self-evident why this is a bad way to handle this mechanic - any mechanic - by ending it on a particular day instead of after a duration period. The guy that has his buddies all ready for the new Nightfall mission and completes it that day stands to gain that effect for an entire week, but the guy that finally manages to get the job done two days before the Weekly Reset gains the Radiant Light effect for a mere two days. Is the problem here not totally, ridiculously self-evident? On top of the readily apparent problem of not receiving equal pay for equal work, as it were, it has the secondary effect of further rewarding and reinforcing better networked players' progress through Destiny, while giving the shaft and a slap across the face of the late-comers for the Weekly Nightfall, who are folks likely having trouble with the Strike and could really use that Radiant Light bonus, but will receive the benefits for incredibly less time. We know there are Cooldown timers in effect in a few areas of the game, with Ammo resupply packs and Glimmer boosters. An effect timer could probably be very easily applied to the Radiant Light effect, and it freakin' should be. Parity, Bungie. If you slog through Nightfall and come out a winner, you should enjoy your Radiant Light as long as any other guy, regardless of what day of the week you managed to emerge victorious.

It IS LOST in x amount of time.... You have 7 days, starting on Tuesday to acquire and utilize it, then there's x amount of time left until it resets the following Tuesday. Whether you choose to complete a nightfall on Tuesday or Sunday is your choice. Me and my buddies do three nightfalls as close to the reset as we can, followed by the weekly heroic so we have the rest of.........x amount of time.......to do whatever we please or help other guardians complete different activities. I don't even mind carrying lower levels through higher ranked weeklies, I actually enjoy it. Allowing them to score something they wouldn't normaly be able to is quite satisfying! Especially the ones just starting out and are having a terrible time getting past level 20 something because RNGesus hates them........you want an exotic from Xur this week but get your butt whipped in the weekly heroic??? Well! Come right along with me!!! If you're on 360 feel free to shoot me an invite and I'll give you a hand completing things earlier in the week! More than once! Heck I'll do it Monday if I haven't done it just for the chance of the loot!!

      • This seems like a really silly thing to complain about to me... if you want the bonus for longer, i suggest either finding some local gamers, doing it solo, or utilizing the recruiting section of these forums to find a group. Do this on tuesday to maximize your usage of the buff and it is usually easy to find someone on the forums right after reset. The buff resets on tuesday because that is the weekly reset time. It would make no sense to have it last longer because then you could effectively stack the bonus to gain more xp from the next nightfall /thread

        • Nightfall is easier than weekly heroic this week because of the arc burn , do nightfall on Tuesdays , easy money

          • What's the point in them having radiant light if they can only play for those 2 days think.

          • You want it longer, do it earlier. This is one of the dumbest thing I've seen people complain about. Life isn't fair, neither is this game.
