It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

I feel like I just got scolded by my dad but you're right. Sorry, dad. It won't happen again.
-
Nope, moving on..........................
-
There are a two of reasons why some might want to speed through that I can think of. 1. To get marks/rep faster. 2. To complete part of an exotic bounty (Toland's Legacy).

Aiming for Bad juju right now. Going to rip through strikes until thats done. I'll take the guaranteed exotic over the small chance of a legendary until I have it.
-
I would love to take my time and clean up all of them but I needed to do 25 to unlock my exotic bounty ... No point in doing them the slow way
-
I agree completely I got the Thunderlord and Heart of Praxic Fire for cleaning up the guys the other two players left. It pays to hang back and take it slow, or you can be that guy and go shoot at a dark cave for hours.
-
Who wants to kill the same low level mobs over and over? Might as well be shooting in the cave. Get it done, onto the next strike.
-
I WISH that the people that did the same Raid or Strike as me were rushers. All they do is just stay at a specific point and don't even try to complete the damn thing. It's frustrating. All I want is to complete Queen's Wrath and get the helmet, but all of the imbeciles won't advance with me.
-
My money my game.. Also not true I got a plan c from nexus lv 24 strike after clearing in 6:54
-
I play the strikes for the marks, reputation, and the random drops. But I often find myself speeding through some of the strikes simply because I'm tired of doing the same strikes over and over. A few days ago I grinded for the 25 strikes for Bad JuJu, the strike playlist sent me to the same 2 strikes for the entire process.
-
If these kids wanna bum-rush through it, screw em. Let them! It's not affecting my gameplay.
-
While I myself enjoy doing the full strikes and killing as many enemies as I can, also finding those chests, the reasoning for these ppl racing to the end of the strikes is the Bounties. When you are trying to boost your rep asap, some people just want to kill that boss and be done.
-
Don't waste your breath. Those who you target in this post have different objectives and are not going to change. Play your game and have fun. That's what I do with my limited play schedule. I don't mind killing everything along the way. You never know who will drop what.
-
I only play for the rep/marks/bounties. I never go in expecting a legendary or other good reward.
-
So what about the people that aren't doing the strikes for the grind? What if they are there solely for the rep and the marks? Or what if they are grinding through the Bad Juju bounty? The entire community isn't in search of engrams. Chances are that by the time you catch up to the "racers" after killing all the adds on the way, that you'll still be able to put a few rounds into the final boss and get your rewards.
-
No. Alot of people dont speed thru for legendary engrams lol
-
don't waste everybody's time
are not you the one wasting everybody's time? If I wanted to grind on lower level mobs I would go to patrol. If I speed run I can finish most strikes in 10-15 minutes. When I'm doing strikes my top priority is getting my vanguard marks. I'm level 29, the odds of any of the drops from any mobs within the strike actually helping me is miniscule plus getting to the guaranteed engrams at the end as fast as possible is much more time efficient than wasting time shooting at mobs that could potentially not give anything and I'm honestly shocked that the majority of people commenting here don't agree with me.

This entire thread can be invalidated with one simple question:
The Lvl 24 Strikes have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes, at least in the Spawn Restricted areas
Where is your source for this information? Because unless you have confirmation that Spawn Restricted mobs have higher loot drops, then RNG remains RNG, and while you may be getting lucky on kill drops, others may not be, and might find the act of killing trash over and over for no tangible benefit to be highly discouraging. At least you are guaranteed some blues, and possibly legendary/exotics through the end of mission roll. Additionally, all those blue engrams you get from the end mission roll have the same chance of turning into a legendary as legendary engrams did pre-patch 1.0.2--I've gotten most of my legendaries this way post patch. So I'm very glad that RNG favors you, but it doesn't favor everyone, and thus not everyone is going to want to waste their time on trash. If you really want to just murder mobs all day, patrol has an even higher chance of dropping engrams as strike mobs primarily because they're lower level and you can decimate hoards of them at once.
-
is it really that hard to read correctly the patch notes????? patch only enhanced REWARDS. drop rates stay the same.
-
When i've run the exact same strike 5 times before because the matchmaking has a hard-on for a specific one, i really get tired of fighting the same enemies in the same order. If i feel like running past the ones that i don't need to kill, i will. If you don't like it, tough cookies buddy.
-
lol not sure if srs.....
-
I'm that guy and proud of it. Why do I do it? Because I can. I'm after shaders and I know they only drop at the end of the game. THAT is my logic.
-
Except completing the strike gives you rare or legendary drops good luck with the 50 shades of green you receive.
-
I would love to kill everything on the way. Problem is, when we drop in to the combat zone, my two other teammates (randoms) will immediately jump on their Sparrows (as you described), and blow past everything. It's frustrating, but if I stick behind to kill shit, by the time I get to the boss; I get maybe two shots in before it dies. If I get there in time at all. I understand Strike speed runs, I do; but do that with your own friends where the three of you can decide that that's how you're gonna play the Strike. Just kill them all. It takes a bit more time, but it's so much more worth it when those sexy blues and purples drop.
-
Maybe if the strikes weren't so boring people would enjoy playing them.
