STOP racing through the Strikes if you actually want Legendary Rewards
It's getting to be a common thing now during the Lvl 24 Strikes that I see these kids race as fast as they can through the Strike usually hopping on their speeder bypassing the first several mobs of lower level enemies which is fine but then they continue on and bypass as many of the Lvl 24 enemies as they can just to get to the final boss quicker.
Why? The boss gives you nothing and your chances of getting anything worthwhile from the end game roll are poor odds for the amount of time it takes to complete each Strike. Your best shot of getting a Legendary Engram drop or at least multiple blue Engrams to give you a chance at Legendary gear and to rank up the Cryptarch is to kill every Lvl 24 enemy up to the boss because that is where all of my Legendary Engrams have come from and I get at least half of my blue Engrams from Mob drops to go along with what I get in the end game roll.
The Lvl 24 Tiger Strikes since the last patch appear to have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes at least in the areas you're facing Lvl 24 enemies, and so bypassing them to finish the Strike faster is just decreasing your chance of getting multiple drops. There's little other reason to be grinding Lvl 24 Strikes in that manner because you can earn Vanguard rep faster farming Patrols, Vanguard Marks faster farming Public Events, and if you need a bunch of Strikes for a Bounty run the Lvl 8 Devil's Lair on Earth and get them done quick.
So don't be that guy that runs way out ahead of everyone else. Don't waste you and your teammates chances for more Legendary/Exotic drops. It doesn't take but an extra 5 minutes or so to clear out all the Lvl 24 enemies your bypassing between you and the Boss when you do it as a group.

I took my time with the Aksor Archon Priest strike the other day just because it's my favorite of all the strikes and I was handsomely rewarded with my first Legendary Engram since the patch. I took it to cryptarch who handed me an Icebreaker exotic sniper. Going a little slower and killing all the adds paid off big time.

Ya I like to play with people like you, because while I race ahead and do nothing you kill everyone and spawn engrams for me which will be at the tower 😂 I like when you do the work for me

I do that. If I have a bounty for the end guy. Like sepksis. I speedrun that strike to kill the tank and sepksis

I experienced this on Friday. It was hard for me to keep up and I would get stick fighting some gnarly Knights while he kept running. My total kills in summoning put was 49. Luckily my effort paid off with an exotic. Patience and Time.

If your goal is mob kill count, you are doing it wrong by being in strikes.

Edited by Voidaar: 10/5/2014 9:04:27 PMI've seen this game give an exotic weapon (plan C) to an afker...0 kills,0 assist, he barely moved from the starting point,me and the other guy got some blue engrams, the afker got 3 other rewards and the Plan C. So yeah,I get your point...don't rush the strike, just afk it while the two other do the hard work, you'll get rewarded at the end LOL

5 RepliesI find myself doing this occasionally, especially when they give me the same 2 strikes 7 times in a row, or when I need 2 engrams to level up my Cryptarch. I've got 8 Exotics, my Red Death, Suros Regime and Universal Remote were obtained via Legendary Package from leveling up the Cryptarch. That being said...I don't mind when people decide to "speed run" because for all I know they just got the same Strike 3 times in a row. You ask people to make their own Fireteam and "play the game right"....but why don't you make your own Fireteam and "play the game right". All that being said, when people use the excuse " Us high level Guardians don't have time for it" is laughable, because any "High level Guardian" doesn't need the Legendary Gear from a vendor, as any High level Guardian should only want Raid Set Gear....not spend Marks on Legendary gear from Vendors. Either way...you can't dictate how other people play...they all paid the $60 just as you did.

Personally, if I enter I strike, I completely disregard the matchmaking system. I don't need anyone they match me up with. I'm going to complete it at my pace, if they don't like that I avoid the cannon fodder on the way to the actual strike segments, they can leave or hang back and shoot peons in the head for 15 minutes, doesn't bother me any. I'd like to see the matchmaking be made into an option rather than forcing me to play with a couple of randoms.

I'm with you. I've had 2 fireteam members do that while doing winters run. I stayed in the area before entering the cave to check for chests. I got 2 legendaries and 3 ship plans 1 which is my current ship.

1 ReplyRNG is RNG. I've played 200+ crucible matches and got 1 legendary engram (turned blue) while my friend with 25 matches has had 2 exotic weapons. I've ran plenty of strikes since patch. Both speed runs and taking my time killing every mob for a better chance at loot, haven't seen a single legendary engram since ( including 4 cryptarch packages that all went blue ) Its -blam!-ing RNG let people play the way they want to play and get over it. Crying on forums isn't doing anybody any justice

They always doing that in almost all strike missions and not knowing if your other teammates will make it before they die there. They do know that if you die in a dark zone and your teammates doesn't reach to you in time (that'll be also in the dark zone), you automatically fail the mission.

2 RepliesProbably not gonna stop. Makes no sense, especially considering I have to do 25 strikes for a bounty. Shooting enemies during a strike is the same as shooting them in free roam (Patrol). You have the same exact chance of getting Legendaries/Rares. If you really wanna play the RNG game that bad, do it on Patrol or find a loot cave.

They are racing to hurry up and get the crappy strike over for the vanguard marks or the rewards you get afterward. If they wanted to get engrams from killing enemies, they would choose patrol and farm for the drops, seeing as enemy level and difficulty has nothing to do with exp. or chance drops.

6 RepliesI have to do a bunch for my bad juju exotic bounty. I haven't started them but would consider skipping mobs just to get to the end and grind out all 25 strikes quickly. I'll stop and smell the roses if my fireteam mates want to though

with the new update to loot for it you get better loot speed clearing it then you get for the kills but for many players like me i dont realy need any thing from the strikes i play them for fun and work on the raid for gear loot
