Well, the reason I race through a Strike is just to complete it.....but I didn't know Legendary items could be dropped from any enemy (correct me if I'm wrong). But then again, what would be the point if my teammates are just going to race through the mission if I on the other hand want to putz around and collect Legendary drops? Sometimes it's also the opposite, where I'm the one racing through the mission and tackling the objectives by myself and my teammates show up much later. Plus there's usually no communication between us, so it's not like we decide "Oh let's just explore and farm for Legendaries," or something. What about the Strike options in the first map menu when you choose to set the destination? Those ones usually have you doing the Strikes all by yourself (unless you invited others). Would enemies in those missions drop Legendary items as well or no? If so, I could just roam around on this week's Heroic Strike, all by myself, and take my sweet time killing everybody and earning my loot.....but would having a low difficulty setting effect the likeliness of getting Legendaries? Honestly, I don't know this stuff. Anyway, I can only speak on my behalf when I say that my intentions in doing Strike missions are fair. I usually do a Strike just to complete it, and of course rake in Vanguard Marks, reputation, and whatever bonuses are yielded at the end. However, per my experience, it isn't possible to just run through a significant wave of enemies, and that even if you could the door would be locked until you finish them off.....but then again, I would fail at trying to just run past the enemies, so I just fight them off...not that I've tried running past them, especially on Lv.24 Strikes, because even if I'm Lv.28, the enemies are still quite deadly. This would hold especially true for this week's Heroic Strike; I forget the name right now but the target is Valus Ta'aurc, so you all should know what I mean.
