i haven't seen a single purple engram since I've started playing. nothing but blues and only getting legendary class mods like make of the six fronts. not having any legendary weapons is killing me in match play and its taking forever to get stuff good enough to do good damage

And that's why it's so sweet when you finally do get that drop, or buy a weapon with your head earned marks. That item will be more than just pixels and numbers to you; it will have weight and meaning. I still have the first legendary I ever found in my bank, and even take it out for a spin every once in a while when doing easy bounties.

Except the only drop I got was materials. And the purple launcher I got was from a blue engram. If you only go for our purps, you're missing the low low chance of getting legendaries anyway.

I did 50 lv 24 and didn't get none and I just got 2 in one so I don't know.

Legendary weapons don't matter in PvP unless you're talking about the abilities weapons can have from upgrades or other stats. Damage doesn't increase in PvP with upgrades. Unless that's not what you meant by match play.

Don't lose hope, I finally got a legendary machine gun from a drop a couple of days ago followed by a sweet scout rifle yesterday.
