You're better off running through quickly and getting your rare engrams and turning them into the cryptarch for a random legendary. Or leveling up vanguard, since now they give you shards and energy. Or doing your dailies for them. Or doing public events. Point is if you need shards, killing everything in a strike for that occassional legendary isn't all that efficent.
