Temporary buffs in the crucible to add like a 20-30 second elemental over shield to you too make elemental damage more useful. They could spawn at random in random places like heavy ammo but no announcement. Maybe making it a random drop from killing enemy players to avoid camping spawn spots.
Oh and for shits & giggles an 8bit side scroller shooter minigame for the smart phone companion app staring a fallen drag kill hordes of give vex and the occasional guardian to redeem himself, grow his arms back and become an Archon priest.

Expanding on the elemental shield idea have it be a random drop from enemy players or random award from capturing a base. Once acquired, it replaces your shield for the time limit or death ( which ever comes first. Will regenerate if the time limit has not expired) it takes double damage from the specific element but only a quarter of damage from all others (kinAarontic included) and with it being a drop you can choose if you want to use it or not. This would be cool making people consider their weapons and make people mix and match instead of just looking at impact. And paying attention to the weapons the opponents are using. I do know that there are certain primaries that cause elemental damage but IMO those should be PvE only and made kinetic when used in the crucible.
