This entire thread can be invalidated with one simple question:
The Lvl 24 Strikes have a higher drop rate than the normal game modes, at least in the Spawn Restricted areas
Where is your source for this information? Because unless you have confirmation that Spawn Restricted mobs have higher loot drops, then RNG remains RNG, and while you may be getting lucky on kill drops, others may not be, and might find the act of killing trash over and over for no tangible benefit to be highly discouraging. At least you are guaranteed some blues, and possibly legendary/exotics through the end of mission roll. Additionally, all those blue engrams you get from the end mission roll have the same chance of turning into a legendary as legendary engrams did pre-patch 1.0.2--I've gotten most of my legendaries this way post patch. So I'm very glad that RNG favors you, but it doesn't favor everyone, and thus not everyone is going to want to waste their time on trash. If you really want to just murder mobs all day, patrol has an even higher chance of dropping engrams as strike mobs primarily because they're lower level and you can decimate hoards of them at once.

 • Really? Blue have that much of a chance to turn into legendaries? Because if so, the RNG really f∪¢k!₦g hates me. I've decrypted over 120 blue engrams since the update and have gotten nothing, not even shards or energy.

 • I wouldn't look at it as "blues having that much of a chance to turn into legendaries post-patch", rather I'd look at it as "purples had that small of a chance to turn into legendaries pre-patch". Because in both cases, chances are/were slim.

 • This^^ RNG is RNG, there are no areas in the game where mobs have increased chances to drop engrams. Just because you have a few good runs does not mean it is fact. What if those people that rush through the strikes got a legendary on the strike before or after you and coincidentally you didn't on the next few. Welcome to RNG. The only benefit you are getting from killing everything in a strike is more opportunity for an engram to drop, also it drops loot for the other players in your group. It is a distinct possibility that they went to town and had some engrams in their mail. It only shows they got a legendary in game if they actually pick it up.
