War Room instead of matchmaking for raids

After playing through the Vault of Glass a couple of times with different teams, I had an idea that I thought I would throw out there. Let me start first with saying that I don't like the idea of random matchmaking for Raids. The task is all about each player understanding their role and learning to execute as a group. With high level characters with a lot of firepower (unfortunately it's all to easy to attain after Xur sold the Regime and Queen's Wrath tossed ascendant materials like candy from a parade float) you can beat the Vault with randoms by just trying and trying. The Vault is, by far, the most fun I've had in the game, and my team all shares that sentiment. Some lower level raids leading up to that would have been great to give folks a chance to establish a team and learn to play that style earlier. With just a bit of social effort, it isn't hard to meet a few people that you enjoy playing with and have the same availability. Just start a clan, hone your skills, be prepared, and others will want to play with you if you aren't a total jerk. Now, one thing that would be very cool and helpful for those that are just getting to know their clanmates is a war room. Just as any military operation would begin, there would be a lobby with tools allowing your team to plan your attack. One such tool would be a screen that shows all characters, attributes, and most importantly, weapons. This would allow a fireteam leader to more effectively assign duties. Another great tool would be intelligence. If a team member has been to an area in the raid, he or she acquires a map of that zone, on which the team leader could kind of do a whiteboard type of interaction. He/She could place character icons, draw waypoints or lines, etc on the map. This is something that every single team event incorporates into the planning stage of an activity, from sports, to military engagements, a simple map whiteboard is the most basic of tools and I just can't understand why games like this haven't incorporated this yet. This game seems to be already set up for it with the stick controlled cursor system already in place. Don't give it away, make people work for it. You could even have map drops for completing high level strikes and such. Or even pieces of maps for high level strikes. This seems like a pretty simple concept that would add a whole new level of team building and engagement. Even if these tools resided on bungie.net, it would be a new level of engagement to acquire the intel. Does it suck if you can't find six to raid right when you want to, yeah, but it makes the accomplishment far more rewarding than plodding and bumbling your way through a raid with a bunch of last minute randoms. Perhaps with tools that allow for more organized strategy, Bungie can get the community to put some effort into being more social, and building teams as their vision was from the beginning.
