If I may, here are two poems that sum up looting, before and after the update.
Roses are red,
Your item is blue.
Your engram was purple,
It sucks to be you.
Roses are red,
Your engram is blue.
There are no more purples,
It still sucks to be you.
In the end, it is all the same. Bungie didn't help us, they simply tried to hush the complaints.

I get legendary engrams more consistently now than I did before... Perhaps you should farm more strikes? I think so.

Would absolutely love to, except that the servers kick me before I can finish them. I farm them when my friend is on so that when I get kicked, I just rejoin him instantly.

That was my experience as well and one of the many reasons it's shelved for the time.
