I had a crush on the same girl for most of high school, dated her once freshmen year, didn't work out but we were still friends and then my crush grew again.
Long story short she -blam!-ed all my friends and we don't talk anymore.

Perhaps your experience has differed, and I can't really comment on that. Edit: Internet hyperbole aside, the patterns I've observed suggest that higher promiscuity is evaluated differently based on gender.

I think part of the issue is attaching negative traits to women that are similarly commended in men based on "parts."
